Add Entitlement Based on an Existing Entitlement

To save time, you can add additional entitlement allowance to multiple contacts based on a current entitlement source. For example, you can use this method to grant next year's personal holiday allowance to all employees within your company.

To add entitlement based on an existing entitlement:

  1. On the header bar, click Admin.
  2. In the Search Admin Zones field at the top, enter Entitlement Management.
  3. Click the Entitlement Management link that displays.
  4. To display a list of contacts to manage an entitlement for, do the following:
    1. In the Entitlement Source field, select the entitlement source that you want to manage.
    2. In the Entitlement Valid On field, click , and select the date when the entitlement is valid on.
    3. Enter or select any other filter options.
For example, you can choose to show only contacts within a specific organization or department, or internal contacts only.
    4. Click Search.
  5. In the list of contacts that displays, select the check box of each contact that you want to manage.
Alternatively, to select all contacts in the list, select the check box on the header of the first column.
  6. On the toolbar, click Add from Selection.
If this option is not visible, use the scroll bar underneath the toolbar to scroll right.
  7. In the Process Entitlements dialog box, use the Amount field to select one of the following options to specify the amount of entitlement to add:
    • Set by copying existing value. Select this option to copy the current base entitlement amount assigned to each contact. For example, use this option to grant the same personal holiday base entitlement for next year.
    • Set by using the following value. Select this option to add a specified amount to each contact. For example, use this option to create ad hoc entitlements, or to create a set of entitlements for groups of contacts who are entitled to the same amount.
    • Set by incrementing existing value. Select this option to add a specified amount to the base entitlement amount (not the remaining amount) for each contact, up to a maximum amount.
  8. In the Carry Over field, choose one of the following options:
    • By copying the existing remaining amount. Select this option to add any current remaining balance for each contact to the new entitlement balance.
    • No carry over amount. Select this option to ignore any remaining balance for each contact.
  9. In the Valid From field, click , and select the date to apply the entitlement from.
For example, to assign personal holiday for next year, you should select January 1st.
  10. In the to field, click , and select when the entitlement ends.
If you do not select an end date, the entitlement allowance is added to the selected contacts for all future years.
  11. Optional: In the Description field, enter some notes about the entitlement allowance.
  12. Click Apply.
