Select or Enter Comparable Products for a Product Type (Classic Workspace)

As an administrator or author, select or enter product listings to use comparable products for the basis of design product.

When you select comparable products in a BOD product paragraph, multiple rules apply and Specpoint automatically makes adjustments to related contents. For more information, see Modification of Element Contents.

To select a registered product listing as comparable product, add the product listing to the product type.

To select or enter comparable products for a product type:

1. In the Project Elements pane of the classic workspace, select an added product type.
   An added product type displays in green.
2. On the element form, click the Products tab.
3. On the Products tab, click an article in which the BOD product paragraph belongs to expand the article and show its paragraphs.
   The BOD product paragraph is typically within an article that has a title of "Manufacturers" or a product type name.
4. Under the article, locate the BOD product paragraph and click (show icon) to activate it.
   The BOD product paragraph has "Basis-of-Design Product" as its property title/key.
5. In the BOD product paragraph, select one or multiple manufacturers from the option set for comparable products.
   The manufacturers display as pills/ovals.
6. To enter a manufacturer or product listing outside Specpoint, in the text field ([Insert Manufacturers Name]), enter the name of the manufacturer and/or product listing.
   Note: You can enter up to three custom manufacturers or product listings in the available text fields.
7. To clear a selection or entry, click X in the manufacturer or product listing pill.
8. To save your changes, click a different area on the element form.
