Company Variable 34: Enable Flex System

Use this Company Variable to determine if the Flex system should be enabled.

You can select one of the following options for this setting:

• 1 - Default to system variable 504
• 2 - Disabled
• 3 - Enabled

The default value of this Company Variable is 1 - Default to system variable 504.

When enabled, this Company Variable allows users to have a flex balance that automatically increases or decreases when logging more or less time than their daily Basic Time. On the Absence Codes tab of Settings > Company Settings > Holidays and Absence, you can setup a specific combination of job codes and absence codes that allow users to use their flex time as time off.

The flex balance can be manually adjusted on an employee's resource profile by an advanced user who can setup employees. This is particularly useful if flex time is being paid out or is being handled manually rather than with an absence code.

It may be necessary to perform a refresh when modifying Company Variable values.
