Detail Analysis Procedures
Use the options and filters lists on the Detail Analysis tab to control the data that is displayed in the analytics.
- Select a Period
Use the Period drop-down list to select the period as of which you want to analyze data. The default period is the latest period for which data is available in wInsight Analytics for the currently selected contract, but you can select an earlier period. - Display Cumulative or Current Values
You can analyze either cumulative values or current (period-specific) values. Charts and tables that focus on one period display either cumulative values as of that period or the values for that period alone, depending on the option you select. Trending charts and tables show either the change in cumulative values from period to period or, if you select Current, the fluctuation of period-specific values from period to period. - Select a View
Use the List of Views list to select a standard or custom view of your wInsight data. This option is available on the Detail Analysis tab in wInsight Analytics – Single Project and on the Data Validation and Views tab in wInsight Analytics – Multi-Project. The view data displays only in the Views tables. The other analytics on those tabs are not affected by the view selection. - Select Element Type
Use the Element Type list to indicate whether you want to display analytic data by element at the lowest level of the selected structure, at the control account level, or at the work package level. - Filter by Element
Use the Lowest Elements, Control Account, or Work Package list to filter the contents of the analytics based on selected elements. Which of these lists is displayed depends on your selection in Element Type. - Select a Structure for Analysis
You can analyze data based on the work breakdown structure (WBS), the organization breakdown structure (OBS), and any other structure that you have defined in wInsight and for which you have loaded earned value data into wInsight Analytics. Structures in wInsight for which no elements have earned value data are not loaded into the analytics data model. - Select a Unit for Analysis
You can display data in dollars, hours, equivalent persons (EQP), or other units your organization uses. - Exclude Indirect Costs and Management Reserve
You can include or exclude indirect costs and management reserve from the analysis data. - Select a Different Contract
You can select a different contract for analysis without returning to the Master Dashboard. - Filter by Control Account Manager (CAM)
You can filter the data based on the control account manager (CAM) associated with the structure elements. - Filter Using Custom Filters from wInsight
You can apply user-defined custom filters to the analytics. The user-defined filters are filters created in wInsight and imported into wInsight Analytics along with the wInsight data. - Display Contract Information
Use the Show Contract Info button to display information about the currently selected contract.
