Contents of the Date Ranges Dialog Box

Use the options to display column data based on a date range.

Field Description
Column Name This area displays the column name. Saved filter settings is applied to the displayed column name.
Start/End Use this drop-down to select a start date and end date of the date range. Options that are available in the Start and End field vary based on the dashpart type and column type. Any of the following options can be displayed for the column:
  • Start of Time/End of Time: Select this option display all records in for the column data from the first available record or the last available record. A date preview is available at the right end of the field.
  • Fiscal Period: Select this option to identify a date range based on current fiscal period. When you select this option, the field displays and you can use this field to go forward or backward to previous or future fiscal periods. A date preview is available at the right end of the field. The fiscal period used on this option will change based on the current fiscal period selected in Vantagepoint.
  • Specific Period: Select this option to identify a specific fiscal period based on the fiscal periods set up in your database. When you select this option, a drop-down field displays that you can use to select the specific period. A date preview is available at the right end of the field.
  • Specific Date

    This is available only for the Account and Account Detail dashpart bases.

    • Today: Select this option to use the date today as the basis for the start or end date. This option enables additional fields that you can use to identify relative periods as a start or end date based on today's date, this week, this month, this quarter or this year. You can also use the options to go forward or backward a period and use the next drop down to define how you want to move back or forward in time.

      As an example, if Week was selected in the right field, clicking once displays 1 in the middle field which makes the range go forward one week. A date preview is available at the right end of the field.

    • Specific Date: Select this option to use a specific date as the start or end date. A calendar field displays when you select this option that you can use to select a date using the date picker or by entering a date. A date preview is available at the right end of the field.
    • Start of Time/End of Time: Select this option display all records in for the column data from the first available record or the last available record.
  • First Day of/Last Day of: Select one of the following relative periods to use the first or last day of the current relative period as the bases for the date range. Relative period options include: Week, Month, Quarter, Fiscal Period, Specific Month, or Specific Period. You can also use the options to go forward or backward the selected relative period. A date preview is available at the right end of the field.
Include Timeframe in Heading
  • None: Select this option to display no date range information in the corresponding column heading of the dashpart.
  • End Date: Select this option to display the end date in the corresponding column heading of the dashpart.
  • Start and End Date: Select this option to display start and end date in the corresponding column heading of the dashpart.
Clear Settings Click this button to restore all fields on the dialog box to their default settings.
Apply Click this button to save the filter settings and close the dialog box.
Cancel Click this button to close the dialog box without saving your changes.
