Transfer 1099 Information to Electronic Filing

The 1099 Electronic Filing feature conforms with Federal government guidelines for electronic filing reporting, and with state government guidelines that follow the Federal guidelines. (Combined Federal/State Filer and reporting for or by foreign entities are not supported.)

Prerequisites: Vantagepoint does not verify the data in the 1099 information file. You must examine all 1099 data in the file, and correct it as necessary for individual vendors with the Form 1099 Editor, before you start this procedure. You must verify information for both the 1099-MISC and 1099-NEC forms.

To transfer 1099 information to electronic filing:

  1. In the Navigation pane, select Accounting > Form 1099 Processing.
  2. On the Other Actions menu, select one of these options:
    • Electronic File 1099-MISC
    • Electronic File 1099-NEC
  3. Complete the fields on the Form 1099 Electronic Filing dialog box.
  4. Click Create File to create the electronic reporting file.
    Vantagepoint prompts you to open the file from its current location or save the file to disk.
  5. In the File name field, specify the file name and then save your work.
  6. Complete steps 2-5 for the other 1099 form.
