Using the Help Search
  • Phrase:Returns all topics that contain the exact phrase in the search criteria. Use quotation marks around the phrase.
    Ex."system administration"
  • And:Returns all topics that contain all the words in the search criteria, in any combination. Insert a plus sign between all words in the search criteria.
    Ex.system + administration
  • Or:Returns all topics with any combination of words in the search criteria. This is the default.

Contents of the Period Selection Dialog Box

Use the fields and options on this dialog box in the browser application to choose the accounting period to work in (the active period).

This dialog box does not display if the Automatically default to the latest open period option is selected on the Startup tab in My Preferences.

Field Description
Period Selection List

In this list of accounting periods, click the row for the period that you want to work in and click Select.

The list of accounting periods displays the following information for each accounting period:
  • Fiscal period (period number/year)
  • Period start date
  • Period end date
  • Whether or not the period is closed

If you switch to a closed or prior accounting period, your ability to process data in that period is restricted if Allow Processing in Closed Periods or Allow Processing in Prior Periods is not selected for your security role.
