After cost progress is approved, you should perform the following steps in Cobra:
Calculate forecast — This is required to move any time phased forecast data within the new forecast dates.
Analyze the CAMs forecast — In order to view the forecast entered by the CAM, run a Cobra report and compare the EAC cost set with the forecast cost set edited in Enter Progress.
Reclass – Use the Reclass Wizard to replace the forecast class in the EAC cost set.
If you use an alternate date set (that is, early or late dates) for your forecast to update in the Enter Cost Progress view, the Cobra Reclass wizard will expand the dates used for the class being replaced. However, if the dates used on the source class in the reclass are already within the Forecast dates, the Forecast dates are not updated.
For example, assume the current Forecast dates are 01/01/2014 to 03/15/2014. During the Enter Cost Progress process, the early dates on the edited forecast change to 02/15/2014 to 4/15/2014. When Reclass is run using the A Replacement of Existing Time Phased Data option in Workflow Type Configuration, the Forecast dates on the work package are updated to 01/01/2014 to 4/15/2014. This is because the start date 02/15/2014 is already within the existing forecast dates. The time phased forecast amounts in 01/01/2014 to 2/14/2014 are replaced with a zero amount.
