You have the ability to print any PM Compass print job using a previous version of printing technology. Printing with this older technology is slower for large print jobs over 100 pages. However, you may prefer this method of printing for smaller print jobs or for formatting purposes for print jobs such as checks, forms, or invoices.
With the older printing technology:
Lines and boxes appear a little thinner
Fonts appear a little larger. One less line may print on a page
Margins may be slightly different (0.1–0.3 cm difference)
You can only use the older printing technology when you print directly to a network printer that has been set up in PM Compass or when you schedule a report to print. In these scenarios, the PM Compass print dialog box displays. Access to PM Compass network printers is controlled by role security.
In the following scenarios, you have no control over the Print Using Previous Version's Method (May be Slower) check box. It is selected automatically, regardless of whether or not you see the check box on the print dialog box:
On the Print dialog box, you select more than one copy to print in the Number of Copies field, and you clear the Collate check box.
On the Print dialog box, you select the Set Scale check box, and you change the percentage to something other than 100%.
Select this button to print the report and close the Print dialog box.
Select this button to close the dialog without printing. Changes made are not saved.
