Change Details (Estimating) Spreadsheet

Most organizations provide an estimating spreadsheet template for the CAM to complete in order to request a change in scope. This spreadsheet is used to update a schedule and/or cost system. When PM Compass is installed, two sample spreadsheets are installed into the Template sub-folder. One spreadsheet is similar to Cobra’s import assignment spreadsheet and the other sample spreadsheet can be imported into a schedule.

You can copy your company's spreadsheet template into this folder, or upload it to a document management system that supports links, such as SharePoint. If you place the document on a shared network drive, make sure that the UNC path is recognized by all PM Compass users (make sure that the link works from any desktop). Then, configure the default template URL to point to your template spreadsheet on the User-Defined Data form.

Use the document management system or server settings to make the template read-only. Deltek does not recommended allowing users to edit the template. The template is copied to the user’s desktop and the copy is edited. Users who create a new Request Change click the link for the template spreadsheet and copy the template to their client. The modified spreadsheet is checked into a document management system and then added to the Links tab.

If the link on the Request Change form displays an error, the template custom fields in User-Defined Data have not been configured. For steps to configure these fields, see Modify the Default Template URL.
