Month End Processes

Use this application to run multiple month-end processes in Costpoint without the need to switch screens.

When running month-end processes, you must run several screens consecutively and without wait times. Rather than entering data on each screen and executing them separately, you can use this application to run all month-end processes the same way that you would run each screen individually. Note, however, that Costpoint locks the processes (individual screens) while being run by this application.

The Month End Processes application runs these screens in the following order:

  • Create Pool Links
  • Build Rate Application Table
  • Compute/Print Pool Rates
  • Compute Burden Costs
  • Load Labor Rates
  • Compute Revenue
  • Update Project Status Report Tables
  • Create Project Report Tables

You can specify the accounting period (fiscal year, period, and subperiod) and projects that you want to include in the automated process on the Month End Processes screen. The same accounting period and project(s) you selected will be used for all the screens within the automated process. No other parameters can be specified aside from these two. For more information on the default parameters used for each screen, see Contents of the Month End Processes Screen.

If, during processing, the application encounters an issue in Compute Burden Costs and/or Compute/Print Pool Rates regarding pool rates that may cause an arithmetic overflow error, Costpoint displays the specific error message and will not proceed to the next process/screen. You have to resolve the issue before running Month End Processes again. You can fix the issue using the methods listed in the following sections:

Warning:

This screen is designed for companies that run the processes for small amounts of data. It runs the processes in the same manner as if someone called them through the individual screens. If large volumes of data are used in the function, it will use all your processing resources. If large volumes are required, Deltek recommends that this application not be used but that a job in the Job Processor be set up to run during an off time.

If you have questions on whether you should use this function, contact Deltek Support Center at https://deltek.custhelp.com.
