FAQs
This section contains FAQs about owning organizations.
What if a Project Manager Is Responsible for Many Organizations?
If a project manager is responsible for many organizations, you can enter only one owning organization as the default.
You may want to enter one of the first few levels of an organization as the mapped default owning organization. When you enter a new quick project, you can modify the first level organization default before you approve the project. For example, if the default owning organization is 1.2, you can change it to 1.2.210.
What Is an Owning Organization?
The owning organization is the "home" organization for the project.
This organization receives all revenue and profit, as well as billed and unbilled receivables if one of the following selections applies:
- Owning Organization was selected in the Default Revenue Posting By drop-down list on the Revenue tab of the Configure Project Settings screen.
- Owning Organization was selected in the Post Revenue to the group box on the Manage Revenue Information screen
