  • Phrase:Returns all topics that contain the exact phrase in the search criteria. Use quotation marks around the phrase.
    Ex."system administration"
  • And:Returns all topics that contain all the words in the search criteria, in any combination. Insert a plus sign between all words in the search criteria.
    Ex.system + administration
  • Or:Returns all topics with any combination of words in the search criteria. This is the default.

Export Control Subtask

Use this subtask to manage the export controls settings for the part/revision.

Field Description
Export Control

Select the type of export control applicable to this part/revision from the following options:

  • None: Select this for items that do not require export controls.
  • ITAR: Select this for items that are subject to International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).
  • EAR: Select this for items that are subject to Export Administration Regulations. Items that are listed under the Commerce Control List (CCL) and use a corresponding Export Control Classification Number (ECCN) belong in this category.
  • EAR99: Select this for items that are not specifically listed on the CCL yet are subject to the EAR. Use the EAR99 designation in place of an ECCN.
  • NLR: No License Required. Select this for items that are subject to export controls but do not require an export license.
USML Category

Enter, or click to select, the U.S. Munitions List (USML) category for this part/revision. Valid entries for this field depend on the USML category data from the Manage United States Munitions List screen.

USML Category Description

This field is automatically populated based on your selection for the USML Category field. However, you can also enter, or click to change the USML category description, which then automatically updates the entry in the USML Category field. Valid entries for this field depend on USML category description data from the Manage United States Munitions List screen.

USML Sub-category

Enter, or click to select, the USML sub-category within the selected USML category. Valid entries for this field depend on the USML sub-category data from the Manage United States Munitions List screen.

USML Sub-category Description

This field is automatically populated based on your selection for the USML Sub-category field. However, you can also enter or click to select, the sub-category description, which then automatically updates the entry in the USML Sub-category field. Valid entries for this field depend on USML sub-category data from the Manage United States Munitions List screen.

Significant Military Equipment

Select this check box to indicate that this part/revision is a Significant Military Equipment item as specified in § 120.7 of the International Traffic in Arms Regulations issued by the Department of State Directorate of Defense Trade Controls (DDTC).

USML

Use this field to enter the USML code for this part/revision. This field is enabled only if you selected ITAR in the Export Control field and is automatically populated based on the USML category and sub-category that you selected.

ECCN

Enter, or click to select, the Export Control Classification Number for the part/revision. This field is enabled only if you select EAR in the Export Classification field.
