Customers/Contacts Tab

Use this tab to link one or more customers or contacts to the contract.

You can add new contacts only for valid Customer/Address Code combinations. For existing contact information, you cannot edit any contact data.

Only active customers are allowed on this subtask.

Click New to begin adding customers/contacts.

Field Description
Role Code Enter, or click to select, the role code for the contact that you want to link to the contract. You can use the same role code multiple times on this tab, given you associate the role with different customer IDs and contact IDs. Only unique role code/customer ID/contact ID combinations are allowed.
Role Description This field displays the description of the Role Code selected.
Customer ID Enter, or click to select, the customer that you want to link to the contract.
Customer Name This field displays the name of the Customer selected as a hyperlink. You can click this link to go to the Manage Contract Management Customer Info screen and see more details about the customer record.
Address Code Enter, or click to select, the address code for the customer.
Point of Contact Select an existing valid contact ID of the contact that you want to link to the contract, or enter a new contact ID to add a new contact to the Customer ID/Address Code combination.
Point of Contact First Name For existing records, the first name of the contact defaults in this field. For new records, enter the first name of the contact that you want to link to the contract.
Point of Contact Last Name For existing records, the last name of the contact defaults in this field. For new records, enter the last name of the contact that you want to link to the contract.
Title For existing records, the title of the contact defaults in this field. For new records, enter the title of the contact that you want to link to the contract.
Phone Number For existing records, the phone number of the contact defaults in this field. For new records, enter the phone number of the contact that you want to link to the contract.
Fax Number For existing records, the fax number of the contact defaults in this field. For new records, enter the fax number of the contact that you want to link to the contract.
Email Address For existing records, the email address of the contact defaults in this field. For new records, enter the email address of the contact that you want to link to the contract.
Active Select this checkbox if the contact is currently active for this record. Multiple rows can have this checkbox selected.
Primary

Select this checkbox for the primary contact. There can be only one Primary contact for each role code. If you select this checkbox for more than one record with the same role code, Costpoint displays an error message.

When you run the Project Initialization subtask in Manage Contracts, Costpoint includes existing information from this tab in the creation of a new project record on the Manage Project User Flow screen, provided that a PRIMECUST role code is entered on this tab and the Primary checkbox is selected for that role code.

The Primary checkbox is also used to populate the primary customer in linked subcontract records as well as reports that use customer information.
