Field | Description |
---|---|
Activity Method Code |
Enter a unique activity method code. There are seven Costpoint-defined activity method codes that display automatically in this field. You cannot modify or delete these codes. Costpoint-defined codes are as follows:
For user-defined codes, once the code is used on the Manage Activities screen or on the Activities subtask of the Manage Opportunities, Manage Contracts, Manage Subcontracts, Manage Organizational Conflict of Interest (OCI), or Manage Leads and Contacts screen, you will not be able to delete it on this screen. |
Activity Method Description |
Enter a unique description for new activity method codes. For existing codes, you can modify this field for both user- and system-defined activity method codes. Note: Duplicate descriptions are not allowed regardless of case sensitivity (for example,
MEETING and
meeting are considered duplicates). Make sure to enter a unique description when adding or editing records to avoid an error.

Show in Lookup |
This check box is selected by default for both user- and system-defined activity method codes, but you can modify it. Keep it selected to display the activity method code in the lookup of the Method field on the Manage Activities screen and on the Activities subtask of the Manage Opportunities, Manage Contracts, Manage Subcontracts, Manage Organizational Conflict of Interest (OCI), and Manage Leads and Contacts screens. Only those codes that are available in the lookup can be used for new records on these screens. If you clear this check box for a code that was already used in an existing record on any of these screens, you will still be able to save that record as long as you do not replace the activity method code for that record. |
Source | This field displays System (system-defined code) or User (user-defined code). You cannot modify this field. |
