Setting up workbook properties
Follow these instructions as part of designing
a financial statement.
Use the Workbook Properties sheet to view and change the global properties
for the worksheet and for the workbook. You cannot rename or delete the
Workbook Properties sheet.
To set up workbook properties
- On the Design
tab, click the Workbook Properties
subtab at the bottom of the worksheet. The Financial Statement Designer version number appears in cell A1.
- Set
display properties for a worksheet:
Display zeros as
|
The format used to display values equal to zero on the statement.
For example: 0.0, 0.00, -0-
|
Remove rows with no value
|
Whether rows with zeros in all columns print on the statement.
If Yes is selected, they do
not print on the statement.
|
Hide inactive accounts with no value |
Whether inactive accounts with no value print on the statement,
If Yes is selected, they do not print on the statement.
|
Display negative numbers in red
|
Whether negative numbers print in red on the statement.
If Yes is selected, they do
print in red.
Applies only to numbers that have the Number
option selected in the Number Format field on the toolbar.

Display commas
|
Whether commas in numbers print on the statement.
If Yes is selected, they do
print on the statement.
Applies only to numbers that have the Number
or Currency option selected in
the Number Format field on the toolbar.

Non-currency negative format
|
The format used to display negative numbers on the statement. Format
options include parentheses, regional preference, symbol before the number,
or symbol after.
Applies only to numbers that do not
have the Currency option selected
in the Number Format field on the toolbar.

Currency negative format
|
The format used to display negative numbers on the statement. Format
options include parentheses, regional preference, symbol before the number,
or symbol after.
Applies only to numbers that have the Currency
option selected in the Number Format field on the toolbar.

Currency symbol
|
The symbol used with numbers that have the Currency
option selected in the Number Format field on the toolbar.
|
Percentage symbol
|
The symbol used with numbers that have the Percent
option selected in the Number Format field on the toolbar.

Display symbols
|
How currency symbols are displayed in currency cells.
For example: In all currency cells, first Amount row only, Total rows
only, first Amount row and totals, or first Amount row and Total rows

- Set
print properties for a worksheet:
Footer text
|
Text that automatically repeats at the bottom of each printed page.
Text options include page number, print date, and print time. Alignment options include left, center, and right. The options selected will appear in this field.
The footer appears in the printed statement, not in the worksheet.

Printing orientation
|
Whether the statement prints in portrait (taller than wide) orientation
or landscape (wider than tall) orientation.

Top print margin
|
The amount of blank space (in inches) between the information on the
worksheet and the top edge of the printed page.

Bottom print margin
|
The amount of blank space (in inches) between the information on the
worksheet and the bottom edge of the printed page.
|
Left print margin
|
The amount of blank space (in inches) between the information on the
worksheet and the left edge of the printed page.

Right print margin
|
The amount of blank space (in inches) between the information on the
worksheet and the right edge of the printed page.

- Set
contents properties for a worksheet (unavailable in ajeraCore unless you have the Departments add-on):
Department filter
|
The department to which the worksheet is restricted.
You can apply only one filter at a time. If you select a department filter, the other filters are unavailable.
If no filter is applied, then
financial information for the whole company (or organization, if you use multi-company) prints.

Reporting entity filter
|
The reporting entity to which the worksheet is restricted.
You can apply only one filter at a time. If you select a reporting entity filter, the other filters are unavailable.
If no filter is applied, then
financial information for the whole company (or organization, if you use multi-company) prints.

Company filter
|
Multi-company only. The company to which the worksheet is restricted.
You can apply only one filter at a time. If you select a company filter, the other filters are unavailable.
If no filter is applied, then
financial information for the whole organization prints.

- Set
contents properties for all worksheets in a workbook:
Workbook name
|
The name of the workbook.
This is the name that appears in the Financial Statement Design window.
|
Month-end date
|
The date Ajera uses to determine the time period for the financial information
in all the statements in a workbook. Ajera uses the last day of the month entered in this field. Example
You enter October 17, 2011 in this field. Ajera provides information through October 31, 2011, for the statement.
When you save and close the statement design, the date is not saved; the field defaults to the month-end date of the previous month.
Note:

- After opening a statement design, verify that the month-end date is correct.
- The Month-End Date field behaves differently with custom date properties.
- In statement groups, the Month-End Date field is overridden by the reporting period you select for the statement group.

Date format
|
The format used to display dates in all the statements in the workbook.
|
Report basis
|
The type of accounting method used in all the statements in the workbook:
accrual or cash.
