Contents of the Qualify Contact Dialog Box

Use the fields and options on this dialog box to qualify a contact and make it available for pursuit.

Field Description
Qualify Contact To qualify the contact, click this button.

The qualification is not actually saved until you click Done.

Create New Firm When a contact is interested and meets your enterprise's business criteria for qualification and a potential sale, you have the option to create a corresponding firm record. Click this button to display the Firms form in Add mode and add the firm. When you save the firm, you return to this dialog box.

If the contact was previously qualified and associated with a firm, you can not create a new firm for the contact.

Create New Project When a contact is interested and meets your enterprise's business criteria for qualification and a potential sale, you can create a corresponding project record. Click this button to display the New Project form and start the normal process for creating new projects in the Projects hub. You can add it manually, from another project, or from a project template.

Some of the default information that normally comes from the copied project, the project template, or standard project defaults is replaced by other default values based on information in the contact record. As always, carefully review the defaults and make changes as necessary.

When you reach the end of the project creation process, you return to this dialog box.

Marketing Campaign To associate a marketing campaign with the contact to indicate that you qualified this contact as a result of that marketing campaign, select the marketing campaign in this field.

If you created a firm, it is counted as a new client for the marketing campaign. If you created a new project, it is counted as either an In Pursuit project or Won project for the marketing campaign.

Done Click Done to complete the qualification process. When you do, the following occurs:
  • The change in the contact's qualified status to Qualified is saved.
  • If you created a firm and/or a project, the contact, firm, and project are all associated with each other.
  • If you created the project before creating the firm and the Primary Client field for the project is empty, the firm is saved as the primary client and the contact is saved as the primary contact. (If you created the firm first and then the project, this occurred when you created the project.)
  • If you selected a marketing campaign, the contact, firm, and project are associated with that marketing campaign, and the marketing campaign counts are updated appropriately.
