Download a Report from the Report Preview
After you run a report, you can download the entire report, or portions of it, from the report's Preview window. You select the file format, such as a PDF, Word, or Excel file, in which the report is saved.
Prerequisites: In Reporting,
run a report.
To download a report from the Preview window:
-
On the toolbar of the window for the generated report, click
Download to display a list of available file formats.
-
Select the type of file that you want to download from the following list:
Option Description Word Vantagepoint generates the report as a Microsoft Word document with the .doc file extension. You can then use Microsoft Word formatting options to modify the appearance of the report. If you generated the report in landscape orientation, set the page orientation in Word to landscape to preserve the report layout. Excel Vantagepoint generates the file in a format that you can open and work with in the Microsoft Excel Spreadsheet application. The file extension is .xls. Use this option if you want to add your own calculations to the report in the Excel spreadsheet. PowerPoint Vantagepoint generates the file in a PowerPoint presentation format. The file extension is .pptx. You can then use the Microsoft PowerPoint application to copy and paste a report into a presentation. Tagged Image File Format (TIFF) Vantagepoint generates the report as a Tagged Image File with the .tif file extension. Use this option if you need to add the report to a page layout application for use in print publications. MHTML (web archive) Vantagepoint generates the report as a web page archive file. The file extension is .mhtml. The report can be opened in a web browser, such as Microsoft Edge or Google Chrome. Use this option if you need to archive a web page that includes all its linked resources (such as CSS, Java applets, Flash animations, as well as audio and video files). An MHTML file saved in one web browser and then opened in a different browser may render differently.
CSV (comma -separated values) Vantagepoint generates the report as a text file that contains a set of data items separated by commas. The file extension is .csv. You can open it in a text editor (such as Wordpad) or spreadsheet application (such as Excel). Comma-separated values files are useful for exporting and importing to and from third-party applications. XML Document Vantagepoint generates the report as an XML file with an .xml extension. Use this option to exchange information between organizations, databases, or processing and application systems, or to create output for online publications or web pages. Data Feed Vantagepoint generates a text file of the report data with an .atomsvc file extension. You can export these files, which are formatted like an XML file, to an online platform, such as your company's website, social media, product data, or news feeds. A downloaded report box showing the report's name and its file extension appears at the bottom left of your computer screen. -
Double-click the report box.
Vantagepoint opens the report file in its native application. For example, if you downloaded the report as a Word file, it opens as a Microsoft Word document with the .doc file extension.
You can then print the report, as well as edit the file and save it to your computer.
You can also download a favorite or standard report directly from the Reporting form. For more information, see, Download a Report Directly from the Reporting Form.
