Welcome to the Deltek Vantagepoint 6.0.5 Release Notes, which describe the new features and enhancements introduced in this release.

These release notes address all of the modules associated with Deltek Vantagepoint 6.0, some of which your firm may not use. Skip the sections that do not apply to your implementation of Deltek Vantagepoint.

Accounting >> Revenue Generation

Defect 1973122: This issue occurred when you ran the revenue generation on a number of records that ended with "0". You received a “No Data to Post” message but a journal entry was still posted.

Defect 1974567: This issue occurred when you scheduled Revenue Generation to run at a later time on the Process Server. If you used a saved search to specify the projects to include in the process, your search filters were not applied and all projects were incorrectly included.


Billing

Defect 1960563: In Interactive Billing and Batch Billing, when you selected Print for an invoice, the invoice preview was slow to open. This issue occurred if the invoice template for the invoice had an image attached to the invoice header or footer and you had a large number of images in the Vantagepoint database.


Billing >> Interactive Billing

Defect 1914948: This issue occurred with the Draft Preview tab of the Interactive Billing form. When the Comments pane was open, you navigated to another tab, and then you navigated back to the Draft Preview tab, the Comments pane was closed.

Defect 1960264: This issue occurred on the Invoice History tab in Interactive Billing when the credit memo was for a partial amount. You needed to specifically select the Tax Basis amount in the grid for it to be posted to the general ledger.

Defect 1967851: When you downloaded an invoice, the font size in the output file was smaller than the font size specified in Settings » Billing » Invoice Template Editor.

Defect 1978176: When you navigated away from the Invoice History tab of the Interactive Billing form immediately after voiding an invoice, the transaction file of the voided invoice did not display in Transaction Center » Transaction Entry » Invoices.


Cash Management >> Bank Reconciliation

Defect 1974062: If you, on the Payment tab of the Bank Reconciliation form, selected the Cleared option for regular check payments, navigated away from the application, returned to the Bank Reconciliation form, and searched for the same bank reconciliation record, Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT) payments also appeared as cleared payments. This issue occurred when:


Cash Management >> Credit Card Reconciliation

Defect 1974534: On the Charges tab, in the Charges grid, you got inconsistent results when you applied a filter to the Secondary Account column.


Cash Management >> Employee Payments

Defect 1966997: You were unable to process an advanced payment for an employee. This issue occurred when the employee had a different home company than the active company.


Hubs >> Employee >> Employees

Defect 1955678: This issue occurred when you displayed the Employees form in list view and, on the Accounting tab of the form, updated the value in the ADP Rate Code field. Even if you specified a valid value, you received the following error message: "Adp Rate Code Ceridian Distribution Code: ADP Rate Code should only contain the following characters: ( A - Z, 1 - 9 )."

Defect 1960283: On the Payroll tab, you received the error "You do not have access." This issue occurred under the following conditions:


Hubs >> Firms >> Voucher Review

Defect 1939008: When you created or paid vouchers in the current period in Transaction Center » Transaction Entry » AP Vouchers, the vouchers incorrectly displayed as paid when you viewed them in the previous period.


Hubs >> Marketing Campaigns

Defect 1955641: When you created or updated a marketing campaign record and clicked Save, Vantagepoint stopped processing.


Hubs >> Projects

Defect 1975969: When you attempted any of the following actions, you received an error message and the action was not completed:


Hubs >> Projects >> Billing Terms

Defect 1971148: This issue occurred when you, on the Fees tab of the Billing Terms form, set the Fee Method option to Percent Complete by Phase, as Percent of Fee. The value in the Percent Complete field in the Fees grid did not update when you posted the billing phase.

Defect 1974655: If the invoice template that was assigned in Billing Terms was numbered 101 or higher in your template list, it would show as Default.


Hubs >> Projects >> Contract Management

Defect 1961092: This issue occurred when, on the General tab in Settings » Project » Contract Management, you set Project Entering Method to At Lowest Level Only and set Synchronize Contract Values to Project Compensation to Yes. If you created a project with at least one phase, added a contract with the Include in Fees checkbox selected in the Contract Management grid, and added a phase or task to this project, the Include in Fees checkbox was cleared.

Defect 1974013: When you specified an amount in a detail line in the Contract Management grid and clicked Save, the total amount in the Contract field in the Summary pane incorrectly included that detail line amount before you clicked the Include in Fees checkbox.


Hubs >> Projects >> Project

Defect 1990186: When you navigated to Hubs » Projects » Project and started working on a record, Vantagepoint displayed a "Please wait" error message and the application stopped working. This issue occurred if the number of options in the County option drop-down list in the project record reached tens of thousands.


Hubs >> Projects >> Project Review

Defect 1937435: This issue occurred when you added a purchase order that had a line item with distribution overrides and another line item without distribution overrides, and both items used the same project number. On the Purchasing tab of the Project Review form, the value in the P.O. Amount field was incorrect because it did not include the amount for the item without distribution overrides.


Installation

Defect 1958941: This defect applied if you upgraded from Vision 7.6 to Vantagepoint 5.5 and had a client firm record in Vision that was linked to an opportunity record. When you migrated the database, Vantagepoint created a duplicate opportunity record and did not merge the firm and opportunity records into one project record.


Mobile

Defect 1976269: When you entered the company's mobile server URL and your company's URL pattern was different than the default pattern, /touch/time or /touch/crm was automatically appended to the URL and you were not able to edit the value to provide the correct URL


My Stuff >> Approval Center

Defect 1950155: On the Approval Center form, when you selected Absence Requests, the grid was slow to load. This issue occurred if your security role granted Assignment Only access to Absence Request approval workflow records (specified on the Record Access tab in Settings » Roles).


My Stuff >> Dashboards

Defect 1867780: This issue occurred in chart dashparts that were configured with drill to dashparts, when a drill to dashpart included the Count and Columns based on calculated fields columns. Filters from the parent dashpart were not applied to the columns in the drill to chart dashpart.

Defect 1969931: In dashparts with the project dashpart base, the unbilled columns included values from transactions that had a status of Final Write Off.

Defect 1975302: When you displayed a dashboard with a large number of dashparts that, in turn, contained numerous columns, you experienced performance issues.


My Stuff >> Reporting

Defect 1732298: This issue occurred on the Account List report when you added one or more groupings to sort by ascending or descending order. When you ran the report, the sorting order that you specified for the groupings was not used.

Defect 1851461: This issue applies to Resource Planning reports, except the Resource Utilization by Organization and Labor Resource Actuals reports. In the report options, when you used the advanced search options from the Records field and entered Projects - Expense Unit Table in the search criteria, you received an error message.

Defect 1953097: If multiple queries tried to access the same table when you ran a report, you could not process the report and the following report processing error messages were displayed:

"An error has occurred during report processing: Microsoft.Reporting.Services.ReportProcessing.ProcessingAbortedException."

"An error has occurred during report processing: Microsoft.ReportingServices.Diagnostics.Utilities.ReportServerStorageException."

"An error occurred within the report server database. This may be due to a connection failure, timeout or low disk condition within the database. System.Exception: For more information about this error navigate to the report server on the local server machine, or enable remote errors."

Defect 1962177: This issue occurred when you, on the Vendor tab of the Firms form, did not select the Approved for Use in Processing checkbox for the active company but did select it for another company. When you ran the Firm List report in Reporting, the Approved for Use in Processing column incorrectly displayed Y for the active company.

Defect 1962958: This issue applies if you use multiple companies. When you selected options for a report, ran the report, and then changed the company while you were still in that report, Vantagepoint preserved the options that you selected for the executed report instead of restoring the report option defaults.

Defect 1970183: This issue applied for projects with an awarded (won) stage that used the Use Revenue Forecasts allocation method. On the Project Forecast report, the value in the JTD Earned Revenue column was not calculated correctly. Other columns that used the job-to-date earned revenue amount in their calculations also showed incorrect amounts.

Defect 1973073: In the Search & Download tool of the Project Planning Analysis report, leading spaces were added in the filter column and no records were returned in the Search Results window when you clicked Show Criteria.

Defect1974454: This issue occurred if you use multiple companies. The Options tab of the Labor Cross Charge report did not include Project and Employee headings after you upgraded to Vantagepoint 6.0.

Defect 1974609: If you added multiple calculated fields to a report and one of those calculated fields was invalid, Vantagepoint excluded all calculated fields from the report.

Defect 1975304: When you ran the Labor Resource Planned and Actuals report for a single employee and did not select a project, Vantagepoint processed the report for all employees, which caused performance issues.

Defect 1977834: This issue occurred in CRM or CRM Plus only databases without accounting periods set up. When you ran the Project Forecast report, you received this error message: "There is no row at position 0."

Defect 1986479: This issue occurred on the Project Earnings report when different phases included tasks with the same task number. If you did not add the Phase Number grouping option to the Grouping and Sorting section of the Columns and Groups tab, incorrect values were displayed in the ETC Hours column when you ran the report.

Defect 1953465: When you opened a timesheet for a terminated employee in Timesheets, you received the following error message: “Command.TerminatedEmployeeMsg."


Proposals >> Custom Proposals

Defect 1982139: This issue occurred when you selected a large number of projects for an Employees hub record in a custom proposal. When you displayed the proposal, you received the following error message:  "Unable to cast object of type 'System.Collections.Generic.List`1[System.Object]' to type 'System.Collections.Generic.List`1[System.String]'."


Purchasing >> Purchase Requisitions

Defect 1953599: This issue occurred when you did the following:

  1. On the General tab of the Purchase Requisitions form, in the Line Items grid, you cleared the Need Price Quote checkbox.

  2. In the Line Items grid, you added a new or existing item with a primary vendor that did not have an address.

When you clicked outside the Line Items grid, you received this error message: "Please correct the related Suggested Vendors below."

Defect 1938858: The word "Formatting" was misspelled as "Formating" on the General tab of the Invoice Template Editor form.


Settings >> General >> Analysis Cubes

Defect 1955565: When the PlanName field in your database was blank, the Analysis Cubes refresh process failed.


Settings >> General >> Screen Designer

Defect 1978462: This issue occurred when you configured the View Association for option as a secured field for a role on the Field Security Rights dialog box of the Screen Designer. The View Association for option was still editable for that role on the Associations tab of the Firms form.


Settings >> Organization >> Individual

Defect 1922335: On the General tab of the Individual Organization Setup form (in the desktop application), when you copied an existing organization code to create a new one, you received this error message: "Record Already Exists and cannot be added." This issue occurred if you assigned approval roles to the organization from which the new organization was copied.


Settings >> Rate Tables

Defect 1930866: This issue occurred in the following rate tables when you had a role with restricted record level access for employees as configured on the Record Access tab of Settings » Security » Roles:

When you added an employee to the affected rate tables, the role based employee record restriction was applied to the New Employee Search dialog box. As a result, the dialog box did not display all employee records (as it should have).


Settings >> Workflow

Defect 1973268: This issue occurred for both user-initiated and scheduled workflows when you set up an email alert action on the Email Configuration dialog box. The EmployeePhoto column was incorrectly available on the Insert Field dialog box.


Settings >> Workflow >> Approval Workflow

Defect 1950794: When you copied an existing approval workflow, entered a different name in the Approval Name field, and saved the record, you received this error message: "Record xxxxxxxx already exists and cannot be added."


Settings >> Workflow >> User Initiated Workflows

Defect 1925983: When you set up a user initiated workflow to automatically update fields in a hub record based on the step conditions, Vantagepoint did not display the changes in the record until you refreshed the page.


Transaction Center >> AP Invoice Approvals

Defect 1959272: This issue occurred if, after uploading an AP Invoice, you changed the active company and then selected a vendor type firm in the Vendor field. The AP Liability field was not prefilled with the liability account mapped to the vendor that you specified.

Defect 1959993: This issue occurred when you uploaded more than one AP invoice approval record. When you saved the first record and navigated to another record, the Route To and Employee fields did not display on the AP Invoice Approvals form.

Defect 1967670: This issue occurred when you edited an AP Invoice Approval record with multiple charge distributions in the Project Information grid. If you changed the value of the Total Tax Amount field for one of the line items, the value of the Invoice Amount field was incorrectly updated to match the total amount of the modified line item.

Defect 1968373: On the AP Invoice Approvals form, after you uploaded an AP invoice, entered information for the invoice, and clicked Save, it did not save. When you clicked Submit, all the information that you had entered for the invoice was gone.

This issue occurred when you did the following on the AP Invoice Approvals form:

Defect 1644284: The Vantagepoint Connect add-in did not display the correct system label for Firms.


Utilities >> Integrations >> QuickBooks

Defect 1932108: This issue applies if you use QuickBooks integration with Vantagepoint. The Error Logs tab of the QuickBooks form displayed two processed transactions of the same posted timesheet record, which doubled the hours of the employee's payroll record in QuickBooks.


Utilities >> Report Administration

Defect 1948807: This issue occurred on the Custom Reports tab of the Report Server form in the desktop application when there was a large number of archived invoices in the database. When you, in the Load Custom Reports grid, uploaded an RDL file, set Location to Invoice, and saved, you received an error message.


Vantagepoint Connect

These Connect defects have been fixed and apply to all previous versions of Vantagepoint that support Connect (you do not need to update Vantagepoint to this MR to get these updates).

Vantagepoint Connect Add-In

Defect 1944417: When you created a new contact in the Vantagepoint Connect add-in, you were incorrectly required to make an entry in the ContactID field.
