Welcome to the Deltek Vantagepoint 6.0.3 Release Notes, which describe the new features and enhancements introduced in this release.
These release notes address all of the modules associated with Deltek Vantagepoint 6.0, some of which your firm may not use. Skip the sections that do not apply to your implementation of Deltek Vantagepoint.
Expose Key Format API Endpoints
Use the new Key Format API endpoints to identify the organization structure, the organization levels, the number of digits for each level, and the delimiter. These API endpoints honor existing validations and restrictions as well as security requirements at the application level.
Defect 1859372: This issue occurred in activities when you did not set the local computer's regional settings to United States. When you changed the time of an activity from AM to PM in any area of Vantagepoint, the time reverted to AM.
Defect 1934854: When you used a saved search to specify assets and then clicked Run to start the depreciation process, you received the following error message: "The multi-part identifier 'CFGFAAssetType.Description' could not be bound."
Defect 1890887: When you selected the Upload Report via SFTP checkbox on the Billing Session Options dialog box, the value in the Save File As field was not remembered in Batch Billing.
Defect 1641605: On the Labor tab in Interactive Billing, when you created a labor transfer, the text in the drop-down list in the Reason for Transfer field on the Billing Labor Transfer dialog box displayed with HTML code. This issue occurred if you had the following entries in Settings » Time » Timesheet Audit:
You set Enable Billing Transfer Audit to Yes.
You copied and pasted text into the Global Transfer Reason field that had HTML formatting.
Defect 1922575: When you used a saved search for vendors, the search results listed records that should not have been included.
Defect 1841580: When your user account was part of a specific role and you viewed a contact record with activities, you received this error message: "Cannot remove this column, because it is part of the parent key for relationship CLActivity."
Starting with release 6.0.3, a warning message displays when you try to secure an essential field.
Defect 1890137: The Amount and Last Payment Amount columns on the Voucher Review form were not displaying the correct total of all vouchers listed in the grid. The total amounts for both columns only included amounts for the first 50 vouchers listed.
Defect 1812468: On the Summary pane of the Billing Terms form, the Billing Client field should have been hidden for:
A project with an Overhead charge type
A promotional project that was linked to a project with a Regular charge type
Defect 1923720: This issue occurred when real-time notifications and interactions were enabled for you in Settings » General » Options and your role only had menu access to the Draft Invoice Approvals application specified in Settings » Security » Roles. When you displayed the Draft Invoice Approvals form, you received the following error message: "You do not have access."
Defect 1901697: When you used a weekly or monthly scale, the Actual Hours values on the Labor tab were rounded each day, causing timesheets to display incorrect total values for actual hours.
Defect 1937099: When you displayed the Assign Resources to Project dialog box, the grids overlapped and you were unable to make selections.
Defect 1948339: When you opened a project plan that had a large amount of data, it took a long time to open.
Defect 1853175: When you tried to open a project in the Projects hub, you received a "You do not have access" error message. When you clicked OK on the Error dialog box, you were able to make changes to the project. However, when you clicked Save, you received this error message: "An error occurred saving the project." This issue occurred in a Vantagepoint database if you had only the CRM or CRM Plus module activated and your security role did not give you full access to all the applications in the database.
Defect 1862089: This issue applies if you set a user-defined grid to require values at the project level (WBS1) of the work breakdown structure. On the Projects form, you could not save the changes that you made at the phase or task levels unless you entered values in the user-defined grid.
Defect 1926281: When you clicked Add Touchpoint on the Actions bar of the Projects form and then created and saved the touchpoint, you were not automatically tagged as the owner in the Attendees column on the Activities tab.
Defect 1938885: When you clicked the Project Structure icon, updated fields on the Edit Project Structure dialog box, and clicked Save, some project-related fields on the Projects form were overwritten with blank values.
Defect 1925908: On the Revenue Forecast form, the JTD Revenue amount was incorrectly calculated using postings that were based on transaction dates instead of the posting period. As a result, the calculated value of the JTD Earned Revenue in Revenue Forecast did not match the value of the JTD Earned Revenue field in Project Review. (Vantagepoint now calculates the revenue amount using posting periods through the last period.)
Defect 1927641: When you tried to open an expense report for approval in the Notification Center, you did not see the expense report record to be approved. This issue occurred when you worked in a multicompany database and the submitter and approver belonged to different home companies.
Defect 1924902: On the Calendar, when you attempted to submit a timesheet, you received an error message that said the number of expected hours was incorrect. This issue occurred if the following things were true:
On the Time & Expense tab in the Employees hub, you set the Check Hours Entered Against Expected option to Error if Under.
The time period for the submitted timesheet was Saturday - Friday.
In the timesheet, you entered fewer hours than the value specified in the Expected Hours field.
Defect 1934382: This issue occurred when you copied a timesheet to add to the Calendar form. When you adjusted the new timesheet by moving or reducing the time to fit with existing entries for the day, Vantagepoint displayed overlapping calendar entries.
Defect 1872677: This issue occurred when you did not set values at the lowest level in Settings » Resource Planning » Plan Settings. The values in the Planned Cost, Planned Billing, ETC Planned Cost, and ETC Planned Billing columns then did not match the values in Project Review, Dashparts, or the Project Earnings report.
Defect 1942037: This issue occurred in the Accounts Receivable predefined dashboard, or in dashboards that had a dashpart with the following settings:
Used the AR Detail dashpart base
Included the Invoice Fully Paid column
When you displayed the affected dashboard, you received an error message.
Defect 1917106: When you added an expense line from an imported credit card transaction, the Payment Amount field reflected an incorrect amount. This issue occurred for multicurrency transactions when the credit card used was in a different currency than the functional currency of the company.
Defect 1938622: You received a deadlock error, or you received a "Please wait" message and then the application stopped processing. You encountered this performance issue if Vantagepoint was running a query on the background and you were doing either of the following:
You were updating information on Invoice Format form and saved the changes.
There was a batch billing job running that failed.
Defect 1850126: This issue occurred for reports that include columns based on user-defined fields. When you changed the Unit of Measure setting to Millimeters on the Reporting tab of the My Preferences dialog box, the column width for affected columns was too narrow on the report.
Defect 1882451: When you generated a Labor Resource Planned and Actuals report, it took several minutes to complete processing.
Defect 1896334: The Payment Register report incorrectly displayed a summary view of processed payments, instead of a detailed view. This issue occurred when you, in Settings » Cash Management » Banks, clicked the Bank Reconciliation tab and set the Summarize Electronic Payment Runs in Bank Reconciliation option to Yes.
Defect 1908681: When you used the Manage Grouping option on the Columns & Groups tab of the Consolidated Income Statement report, the Select Groupings dialog box incorrectly displayed lower organization levels in the Available Groupings list.
Defect 1922095: When you generated a Project Detail Report, the sort order for labor codes defined in the Labor Options of the Project Detail report was ignored.
Defect 1931426: In the Project Earnings report, Vantagepoint did not include the estimate to complete (ETC) direct consultants amount when calculating the total ETC amount. This resulted in mismatched ETC amounts between the Project Earnings report and the Financials tab in Hubs » Projects » Project Review.
Defect 1932286: On the User Audit Detail report, when you changed the Display Username column of an existing report and then ran the report again, the changed username was displayed but corresponding audit details were not displayed in the Old Value and New Value columns. (This issue occurred even though these audit details were available in the Audit Detail Table.)
Defect 1934935: When you ran a hub report that included a user-defined Date/Time column, you could not change the Date format.
Defect 1937303: The estimate-to-complete (ETC) labor amounts that displayed in the Project Earnings report did not match the amounts on the Labor tab of the Plan form in Hubs » Projects » Plan.
Defect 1937573: This issue occurred on the Voucher Ledger report if you were using multiple currencies and had vouchers with different currency payments and gain and loss entries. Even when the affected vouchers were already paid, they displayed with a balance.
Defect 1939336: When you generated a Timesheet Audit Detail report, you received a "You do not have access" error message. This issue occurred if your user role did not have access to Settings » Time.
Defect 1939675: This issue occurred if you do not use multiple currencies in Vantagepoint. When you changed the value in the Unit of Measure field on the Reporting tab in My Preferences and then tried to run a favorite report that had been created from the Tax Analysis report, you received the following error message: “Please review values on tabs Columns & Groups, Layout.” When you opened the standard Tax Analysis report, the unit of measure for the width and page size on the report Layout tab showed the unit of measure from the favorite report instead of the unit of measure specified on the Reporting tab in My Preferences.
Defect 1940439: When you generated the Office Earnings report, you received the following error message: "An error has occurred during report processing. (rsProcessingAborted)." This issue occurred when your company did not have expense, consultant, and unit planning types enabled in Settings » Resource Planning » Plan Settings and, in the report options, you set the Budget Source option to Project Planning Budget.
Defect 1942117: When you set the Fee Remaining report to exclude completed projects, phases, and tasks, Vantagepoint also excluded completed billing phases in the generated file.
Defect 1924641: This issue occurred for purchase orders and purchase requisitions. On the Default Distribution tab, when you added a project in the Default Distribution grid, you were able to save the grid row entry even if you did not also specify a value in the Phase field. This issue occurred when the task level was enabled and the Task column was hidden in the grid.
Defect 1931772: This issue occurred in some large databases. When you grouped resources on the Grid Setting dialog box of the Resource Management report and Vantagepoint returned large amounts of data results, the total values for the Range ETC Hours, Range Planned Hours, and Range Utilization Hours columns displayed incorrect or undefined amounts.
Defect 1921220: In Project Search, if you tried to filter projects by a specific invoice number instead of by the project associated with the invoice, the search incorrectly returned multiple project records in the Search Results grid. This issue occurred when you set the following options in the grid:
You set the Select a Field to Invoices - Invoice.
You set the Operator field to =.
In the Add Value field, you specified the invoice's number.
Defect 1929272: If you had a large number of projects and you used a SQL Where Clause to search for a project in a Project field in Vantagepoint, you received this server error message: "414 Request_URI Too Long."
Defect 1921222: On the Options tab of the Credit Cards form, although the default value for the Separate Import Into Secondary Credit Card By option was Secondary Account Number, that value did not display as one of the choices in the drop-down list for the option.
Defect 1855935: This issue occurred with user-defined fields in the Projects hub. Even when you selected the Available for Analysis Cubes option on the Field Settings dialog box in Screen Designer, the user-defined fields were not available in the Measures list on the Calculated Measures dialog box.
Defect 1936598: When you entered a password that exceeded 50 characters in the Password field on the Communications form, you received the following error message: "String or binary data would be truncated. The statement has been terminated."
Defect 1847374: In the Vantagepoint Intelligence Desktop Tool, the project estimate fee value displayed in the project, phase, and task levels when it should have displayed only at the project level. This issue caused the tool to display an incorrect project estimate fee total value at the project level.
Defect 1944112: In the Enabled Languages section of the form, all languages that you had previously deleted were added back to the list. This issue occurred after you upgraded to Vantagepoint 6.0.1.
Defect 1894666: This issue occurred on the Files Category Settings dialog box when a file category for an application had the same code as another file category in a different application. When you tried to delete an affected file category, you received an error message indicating that the value was in use and could not be deleted.
Defect 1931544: This issue occurred on the Project Templates form of the desktop application when you upgraded from Vision. When you moved user-defined fields from a hub to the Overview tab of the Projects form through the upgrade process, those user-defined fields were not displayed on the General tab of the Project Templates form.
Defect 1921635: This issue occurred when the unused rate table record that you tried to delete had the same Table Number as another, different type of rate table record, and the other rate table record was currently being used in a project. When you tried to delete an affected rate table record from the Billing Expense Accounts Tables form, you received an error message indicating that the rate table record was still in use for another project.
Defect 1871319: When you used stored procedures in a workflow and one or more errors were found during validation, the validation error messages were displayed twice.
Defect 1851010: When you used CRM and CRM Plus databases that did not have the Accounting module, Vantagepoint incorrectly included billing-related fields in the drop-down menu options on the Conditions, Column Change Configuration, and Expression Builder dialog boxes.
Defect 1851455: This issue occurred for user-initiated employee workflows with a notification action that you set up to send alerts when changes were made to an employee record. When the employee record was updated and the notification message exceeded the character limit, you received this error message: "The response body from the Pusher HTTP endpoint count not be parsed as JSON: The data content of this event exceeds the allowed maximum (10240 bytes)."
Defect 1940966: The email notification message sent to employees included codes instead of descriptions for the following reference fields:

Defect 1945845: When you updated any field in the employee record and the user initiated workflow with column field change configuration that uses a standard employee field was then triggered, you received the following error message: "Workflow error processing CHANGE event…Object reference not set to an instance of an object."
Defect 1950003: When you created a workflow in User Initiated Workflows with a Column (field) Change action that replaced data in a specific grid column or field in the Projects hub, you received the following error message when data was replaced in a column or field: "The given key was not present in the dictionary."
Defect 1812632: This issue occurred in the Project Information grid of an AP Invoice record when you inserted a detail line and did not enter a project and an account. You then saved and submitted the record, and an approver approved the record. When you viewed the AP Invoice record in Posting Review, you encountered a "Project Number is Missing File" error.
Defect 1850115: On the AP Invoice Approvals form, when you ran a search for AP invoice approvals in which you applied the AP Invoice Approvals - State = In Progress search condition, you did not receive any search results.
Defect 1896851: This issue applies for vendors with a default tax code. On the AP Invoice Approvals form, when you uploaded an AP invoice to submit for approval, added multiple rows in the Project Information grid, copied a row in the grid to create a new row, and clicked Save, you may have received the following error message: "Account <xxxx> is inactive. Record <xxxx> already exists and cannot be added."
If you then clicked the Total Tax Amount field in the Projects Information grid for the row that was created using the Copy action, a duplicate tax row with a zero amount incorrectly displayed on the Tax Codes dialog box.
Defect 1920447: This issue occurred when you, in Settings » Workflow » Approval Workflows (in the desktop application), set up Vantagepoint to automatically generate a voucher when an AP Invoice Approval record is approved. When you approved an AP Invoice Approval record, you encountered the following issues:
In Transaction Center » AP Invoice Approvals, you received an error message on the Invoice Date field and Vantagepoint did not create a voucher.
In Hubs » Firms » Voucher Review, the AP Invoice Approval record for which you encountered the error was associated with an already existing AP voucher.
Defect 1921717: When you uploaded a file to create an AP Invoice record, the number of records did not update in the Search Navigation controls on the AP Invoice Approvals form. You also were not able to find the new record when you entered a value for the Approval ID in the Record Selection pane.
Defect 1841240: This issue occurred when you, on the Vendor tab in Transaction Center » Create Voucher from PO (in the desktop application), selected a purchase order but did not enter a value in the Tax Code field. You were able to save and post the voucher even if you set the Require Tax Codes To Be Used in AP Transactions option to Yes in Settings » Cash Management » Options.
Defect 1849567: When you posted a transaction entry for an organization that was not completely configured, you should have received an error message saying that the transaction caused an out of balance, one-sided entry.
Defect 1841828: This issue occurred when you logged in to Vantagepoint using the English (International) language. Some instances of the words Synchronisation and Authorisation incorrectly used the English (United States) spellings: Synchronization and Authorization.
Defect 1932869: This issue occurred on the Change Number tab when you entered a valid project number in the New Project field as identified in Utilities » Key Formats » Projects. When you ran the utility, you received an error message indicating that the new project number that you entered was invalid.
Defect 1929732: In the Task option drop-down list, task numbers were displayed twice for each task (instead of the task number and corresponding task description).
Defect 1897124: This issue occurred when you, in the Queue Process grid, selected a recurring process job and then modified the date of the Start After field on the Process Queue Details dialog box. When you saved the record and closed the dialog box, the value of the Start After field in the Queue Process grid was not updated.
Defect 1920441: This issue occurred when you used the Search and Replace utility to update a drop-down field from a user-defined hub that had been added to the Firms hub. When you made an entry in the Value field on the Search and Replace form, you received the following error message: "An error occurred saving the Search and Replace." If you tried again, the search and replace was successfully saved.
