Actions Bar for the Transaction Entry Form

Use the Actions bar to post transaction files, schedule transaction files for posting, or access report options.

Commonly Used Actions

Click the buttons on the Actions bar to access commonly performed actions.

Field Description
+ New <Transaction Type> File Click this link to display the New File dialog box and create a new transaction file.
Print Click this option to print a transaction record from either the All Transaction form or from the Transaction Entry form. When you print a transaction, you can specify if you want to show report options for the transaction report or hide them. Showing report options allows you to access a Layout tab where you can define the document properties for the report. See the Print a Transaction Report online help topic for more information.
Post This option displays if you have full access rights to all transaction types or if you have access rights to post the transaction file. Click this option to post the selected transaction file right away.

To configure this setting, select Settings > Security > Roles. On the Roles form, select the Full Access to all Transaction Types option or set access rights for specific transaction types.

Schedule to Post This option displays if you have full access rights to all transaction types or if you have access rights to post the transaction file. Click this option to display the Schedule dialog box where you can set to post the selected transaction file at a later time.

To configure this setting, select Settings > Security > Roles. On the Roles form, select the Full Access to all Transaction Types option or set access rights for specific transaction types.

Click this icon to filter the transaction files in the list. For example, you can filter the list to only show items that you created or that are in progress.
Click this icon to add or remove columns in the grid.
Click this icon to download the list of transaction files in the grid as a CSV file. To download only specific files, select the transaction files that you want to download first before clicking the icon.

Other Actions

Click the Other Actions menu to perform the following actions:

Report Options Click this option to show or hide the Report Options that impact printing.
  • If Show Report Options is selected, the Layout dialog box displays. Use this dialog box to set the layout options for the printed transaction. See the Layout Dialog Box online help topic for information on the different layout settings. After determining the layout, click Run to run the report.
  • If Hide Report Options is selected, the report runs automatically when the Print option is selected.
