Vendors and QuickBooks Integration

When you use QuickBooks Online and Vantagepoint, you maintain vendor records in QuickBooks Online.

Add New Vendors

Add new vendors in QuickBooks Online in Expenses > Vendors. The new vendors are added in Vantagepoint the next time the updating occurs between QuickBooks Online and Vantagepoint. In Vantagepoint, the vendors are added as vendor-type firms in the Vantagepoint Firms hub in Hubs > Firms. Vendor is selected as the firm type in the Firm Type field in the Summary pane of the Firms form.

You cannot add new vendors directly in the Vantagepoint Firms hub.

Make Changes to Vendor Records

In Vantagepoint, the vendor fields that are shared with QuickBooks Online are read-only. You must make changes to vendor records in QuickBooks Online. The changes will be updated in Vantagepoint the next time the automatic or manual updating occurs between QuickBooks Online and Vantagepoint.

Delete Vendors

In QuickBooks Online you cannot delete a vendor, but you can make it inactive. When you make a vendor inactive, the status of the matching vendor in the Vantagepoint Firms hub is changed to inactive when the automatic or manual updating occurs between the two products.
