Using the Help Search
  • Phrase:Returns all topics that contain the exact phrase in the search criteria. Use quotation marks around the phrase.
    Ex."system administration"
  • And:Returns all topics that contain all the words in the search criteria, in any combination. Insert a plus sign between all words in the search criteria.
    Ex.system + administration
  • Or:Returns all topics with any combination of words in the search criteria. This is the default.

Display the Advanced Search Settings

You display Advanced Search Settings from the Search dialog box.

Prerequisites: Create a new search or open an existing search.

  1. On the Search dialog box, click the Advanced Settings toggle to access the additional fields that are needed to create more complex searches.
    For example, if you have the appropriate security role access, you can create SQL Where Clause searches.
