Firms Associations Tab

Use the Associations tab in the Firms hub to create and maintain lists of the projects, and other firms that are associated with a firm.

Contents

Firm hierarchies are enabled in Settings > General > Firm Hierarchy .
  • This [firm] only: Select this option to only display records directly associated with this firm. This option applies to both grids. This option displays when a firm hierarchy is established.
  • This [firm] and all lower levels of the hierarchy: Select this option to display all records associated to this record and any records associated to records lower in the hierarchy from this firm. For example, you are viewing a parent firm and want to see all associations of the current firm as all associations of firms that are children to the current firm. This option applies to both grids. This option displays when a firm hierarchy is established.
Note that if the firm's Status is Inactive, Dormant, the Inactive Firm dialog box displays when you attempt to associate a project record. Use this dialog box to change the status to Active if needed.

Much of the information for Vantagepoint is entered and displayed in grids on various forms. For information about using grids, see Working with Grids.

Projects Grid

This grid displays the projects associated with the firm. You can establish the association of a project with the firm by selecting the project in this grid or by selecting the firm in the Firms grid on the Team tab for the project in the Projects hub. If you add, edit, or delete information in this grid, that change is also reflected in the Firms grid for the project. To add another project association, click + Add Project below the grid and use the drop-down lists to select project information.
