  • Phrase:Returns all topics that contain the exact phrase in the search criteria. Use quotation marks around the phrase.
    Ex."system administration"
  • And:Returns all topics that contain all the words in the search criteria, in any combination. Insert a plus sign between all words in the search criteria.
    Ex.system + administration
  • Or:Returns all topics with any combination of words in the search criteria. This is the default.

Inactivation of Element Contents

Use this reference to learn about the multiple rules that apply and the changes that Specpoint makes to related content items when you inactivate the contents of a project element.

Rules and Automated Changes

Content Item Rules Automated Changes
All When you inactivate any content item, the following rules apply:
  • You can inactivate only the contents of an added and active project element.
  • You can inactivate only articles and paragraphs that are active on the element form.
When you inactivate any content item, the platform makes the following automated changes:
  • You disable modifications for the article or paragraph. This includes moving, duplicating, adding, or removing the content item.
    Note: For office masters, modification of inactivated content items are still enabled.
  • You temporarily hide specification contents for the content item from the preview and output.
  • Specpoint adjusts the numbering of affected articles and paragraphs in the preview and output.
Performance Requirement You cannot inactivate performance requirements. None
Article None When you inactivate an article, the platform makes the following automated change:
  • Specpoint inactivates all paragraphs and all the paragraphs' subparagraphs under the article.
Paragraph or Property Set None When you inactivate a paragraph or property, the platform makes the following automated change:
  • Specpoint inactivates all subparagraphs on all levels under the paragraph.
Shared Property None When you inactivate a shared property, the platform makes the following automated change:
  • When you inactivate a shared property, Specpoint inactivates all instances of the paragraph in all families, sections, and/or product types that share it.
Manufacturer Paragraph None When you inactivate a manufacturer paragraph, the platform makes the following automated change:
  • Specpoint discards all selections and entries in the manufacturer list.
BOD Product Paragraph None When you inactivate a BOD product paragraph, the platform makes the following automated change:
  • Specpoint discards all selections and entries in the option set for comparable products.
