Subcontract Tendering
Subcontract tendering is the process of inviting subcontractors to make formal tenders for specialist work on a construction project. With automated document creation, you can quickly distribute related drawings and specifications to your supply chain for them to issue bids against. Once the tender responses are captured in PIM, you award the contract to a selected organization, which automatically assigns them to the project.
There are four stages to subcontract tendering:
Prepare Work Packages
At this stage, you create the required work packages. For each work package, you link the relevant drawings and specifications, and add the organizations that you want to issue for tender.
Issue Work Packages for Tendering
Once your work packages have been created, you enable the work packages for tendering, and then issue them to the designated subcontractors.
Manage the Tendering Process
Once a designated subcontractor has submitted their response, including any relevant documentation, you add their response and reconciled quote details against the work package. If required, you can send emails to selected tenderers to remind them to submit their tenders. Once you have received all quotes, you award the tender. Reports are available to assist you with managing the tendering process.
Edit and Revise Work Packages
During the tendering process, you may need to update work packages to update the project information, specifications, or drawings. If a work package has already been issued, you create a new version of the work package, and reissue it for tender.
