Meal Restriction

The Meal Restriction feature ensures that a punch employee using a shop floor terminal will remain punched out for a meal event for a minimum length of time. Once a user punches out for a meal, the user will not be allowed to post any other event on the terminal until the specified time has passed. For example, if the meal restriction is for 30 minutes, the user will not be able to punch back in until 30 minutes have passed from the start of the meal.

To use this feature, you need to perform the following configurations:

Add the Minimum Duration to the Meal Event

 

Configure the Terminal Profile for Meal Restriction

  1. Click Main Menu > Configuration > Terminal > Terminal Profile.

  2. Find the Terminal Profile for which you want to enable this feature and take note of its Login Event Name.

  3. Navigate to Main Menu > Configuration > Event > Events.

  4. Select the Login Event Name you noted in Step 2.

  5. Click the Validation tab on the lower half of the Events form.

    If the event already has a Post Validation record for the Std Validation ID called Generic Event Minimum Duration Validation, you can skip the remaining steps and proceed to "Add the Minimum Duration to the Meal Event" below.

    Otherwise, continue with the next step.

  6. Click Add on the Validation tab of the Events form and configure the settings as follows:

    Validation Type: Event Validation

    Validation Stage: Post Validation

    Std Validation ID: Generic Event Minimum Duration Validation

  7. Click Save.

  8. Go back to the Terminal Profile form, select the Terminal Profile from Step 2, and click the Update Server button.

  9. Continue with "Add the Minimum Duration to the Meal Event" below.

 

Add the Minimum Duration to the Meal Event

  1. Click Main Menu > Configuration > Event > Events.

  2. Select the meal event for which you want to enable the Meal Restriction feature.

  3. Navigate to the Setting tab in the lower half of the form.

  4. Select MINIMUM_DURATION setting and click Modify.

  5. In the Setting Value field, enter the minimum amount of time that employees must remain on break. Enter this value in HH:MM format. For example, if you want employees to remain on break for 30 minutes, you would enter 00:30.

  6. Click Save. The Meal Restriction feature has now been configured.
