Field Translation

The Field Translation tab allows you to identify specific values in the source data that can be translated/converted to the value you specify in the Destination Value field. When the data is imported, the identified source values will be converted to the destination values. The destination value will display in the output data.

The Field Translation tab is available when you click the Source Fields tab on the Import Definition form.

Field Translation Field Descriptions

Source Value

Identifies the value in the source data that will be translated into the destination value in the output data by the Import Files Service.

Destination Value

Identifies the value that will be reflected in the output data.

Update Date, Updated By

These fields display when the record was created or updated, and the person who created or updated the record.

 

View a Field Translation

  1. Click Main Menu > Configuration > Interfaces > Import Definition.

  2. Select an Import Name from the Import Name drop-down menu.

  3. Click the Source Fields tab.

  4. Select the Source Fields record that contains the details you want to view.

  5. Click the Field Translation tab to view the configured values.

 

Add a Field Translation

  1. Click Main Menu > Configuration > Interfaces > Import Definition.

  2. Select an Import Name from the Import Name drop-down menu.

  3. Click the Source Fields tab.

  4. Select the Source Fields record you want to add a translation record to.

  5. Click the Field Translation tab.

  6. Click Add.

  7. Enter the Source Value you want to translate.

  8. Enter the Destination Value.

  9. Click Save.

 

Modify a Field Translation

  1. Click Main Menu > Configuration > Interfaces > Import Definition.

  2. Select an Import Name from the Import Name drop-down menu.

  3. Click the Source Fields tab.

  4. Select the Source Fields record that contains the translation record you want to modify.

  5. Click the Field Translation tab.

  6. Select the record you want to modify and click Modify.

  7. Modify the record.

  8. Click Save.

 

Delete a Field Translation

  1. Click Main Menu > Configuration > Interfaces > Import Definition.

  2. Select an Import Name from the Import Name drop-down menu.

  3. Click the Source Fields tab.

  4. Select the Source Fields record that contains the translation record you want to delete.

  5. Click the Field Translation tab.

  6. Select the record you want to delete and click Delete.

  7. Click OK to confirm the action.
