Configure Transfer Locations

Use this screen to establish transfer locations for both the sending and receiving databases.

If you are transferring IWO data from one database to another, the location codes must be identical in each database. You can set up the Home Location (the beginning database) in the Inter-Company Work Orders group box on the Configure Project Settings screen. You also designate the Last IWO Number used on the Project Settings screen. Costpoint uses these two fields to mark and identify entries created and transferred out of this database during the transfer process.

If you select the check box in the Active field for a location, it is not available for selection on the Project Settings screen. You cannot transfer allocations to inactive locations.

Use this screen as the first step in creating an IWO transaction. The location codes established here are available for on the Manage IWO Projects screen. You can transfer each IWO project to only one receiving project and location.

Note: After the IWO process has taken place, you must recompute burden in the receiving database to move the IWO project costs from the General Ledger to the Project Ledger.
