Manage Engineering Change Approval Processes

Use this screen to develop approval processes for engineering change notices (ECNs).

Approval processes are made up of one to many approval titles (created in the Engineering Change Approval Titles screen) that are linked together in the sequence in which they are performed. You can create as many approval processes as necessary, but you can link only one approval process per ECN.

  • If you selected the ECN Class option on the Configure Engineering Change Notice Settings screen, you can also use this screen to assign the approval process to one or more of the three ECN classes. Do this by selecting the appropriate Class check boxes at the top of the screen. The program will perform a validation to ensure that a given class is not assigned to more than one approval process.
  • If you selected the ECN Type option on the Configure Engineering Change Notice Settings screen, you can link approval processes to one or more engineering change types on the Change Types subtask. When you open this subtask, all engineering change types not yet assigned to an approval process display in the left table window, while all types already assigned to the approval process will be displayed in the right table window.
  • If you selected the Organization option on the Configure Engineering Change Notice Settings screen, you can link approval processes to one or more organizations in the Link Orgs subtask. When this subtask is opened, all organizations not yet assigned to an approval process display in the left table window, while all organizations already assigned to the approval process display in the right table window.

Two other subtasks are provided for information purposes only. The Approval Title Users subtask displays all the current approver users and employee information for each non-signature approval title. The Approval Title User Projects subtask displays all project/user links for approval title identified as project approver titles (EC_APP_TITLE. CHK_PROJ_FL = Y).
