Columns for Cash Receipts Report

You can select the columns to display on your report.

Field Description
Account Name This column displays the name used to identify the account.
Account Number This column displays the number associated with the account.
Amount This column displays the total amount of the transaction.
Bank Code This column displays the code/identifier for the bank involved in the transaction.
Bank Organization This column displays the organization used when posting to this bank code. If your firm is not using organizations, this column does not display.
Client Name

This column displays the name of the client associated with the transaction.

The client name that displays is as follows:

  • For the cash receipts that are applied to an invoice for a regular project, the name of the billing client that the invoice was posted with displays in this column.
  • For cash receipts for a regular project that are not applied to an invoice, such as a retainer, the name of the project's billing client that is currently entered on the Accounting tab in the Projects hub displays in this column.
  • For cash receipts for an overhead or promotional project, the primary client that is currently entered for the project on the Overview tab in the Projects hub displays in this column.
Company This column displays the active company that was used when the transaction was posted.
Department This column displays the department associated with the transaction.
Description 1, Description 2 These columns display the descriptions for each transaction detail line. The following types of descriptions are stored for each transaction:
  • Description 1 is a general description of the transaction (for example, the name of the vendor for an accounts payable voucher).
  • Description 2 is a more specific description of the transaction (for example, the description entered during transaction entry for a single item on a voucher).
Invoice

This column displays the invoice number associated with the cash receipt. Only receipts that credit accounts receivable accounts have an invoice number.

  • For cash receipts, this column contains the check number.
  • For employee repayments, this column is blank.
Organization If your enterprise uses organizations, this column displays the information for the organization that associated with the transaction. The organization information displayed includes the full name of all levels of your organization. If your firm is not using organizations, the column displays no data.
Organization 2-5 These columns display the other supplemental organizations associated with the transaction.
Period This column displays the accounting period during which the posting was made.
Phase This column displays the phase number.
Posting Sequence This column displays the posting sequence number of the transaction. Vantagepoint assigns sequence number 1 to the first group of transactions posted during an accounting period, sequence number 2 to the second group, and so on.

To see a numbered list of all of the postings for the current accounting period, select Transaction Center > Posting Review in the Navigation pane.

Project This column displays the project number associated with the transaction. If a transaction is not related to a project, no project number displays. No project number displays for balance sheet account transactions, except for accounts receivable transactions.
Reference Number This column displays the reference number for the transaction.
  • If the transaction is an implicit posting or an automatic posting, this column displays Auto.
  • If the transaction is historical, this column displays History.
  • If the transaction is related to revenue generation, this column displays REVGEN.
Row Count This column displays the row number of a line item.
Task This column displays the task number.
Transaction Date This column displays the date on which the transaction was posted.
