Select one of the following options:
New Workflow Type: Select this option to create a new workflow type.
Copy Current Workflow Type: Select this option to copy the workflow type that is currently displayed.
When copying a workflow type, the Workflow Type field is blank on the new record. All other information, including the other tabs, is copied to the new record. You cannot copy the current workflow type if it, or the workflow category, is no longer active or if you do not have access to it.
Select Workflow Type to Copy: Select this option to select the workflow type you want to copy.
Select this option to display the Form Designer where you can change the layout of the form for the workflow type you are creating.
Select this option to delete the currently selected workflow type.
You cannot delete a workflow type if:
Workflows have already been created using it. To stop new workflows from being created using the workflow type, you can make the workflow type inactive, select not to show it on the menu, or modify the access control.
It is created when running a workflow on another workflow type or alert.
A parent workflow relies on it as a child workflow. For example, if a Control Account Change workflow is selected in the Multiple Control Accounts: Generate this workflow type field for a Contract Change parent.
Deleting a workflow type removes all traces of its workflow in Scheduled Alerts and User-Initiated Alerts. This means that any additional actions added manually through Scheduled Alerts or User-Initiated Alerts for one of the workflow steps are also removed.
Click this button to export a workflow type.
If you are making modifications to a workflow type, you can make multiple backups using the Export function. If you want to copy a workflow type from one database to another, you can export it and import it into a new database.
You might export a workflow before making changes in Workflow Type Configuration so that you are able to revert to the original version of or just to save your changes as you are making them. You can also use this feature to transfer a workflow type to a different system ( for example, from test to production).
Click this button to display the Import Workflow Type dialog box where you can import a workflow type.
Use this feature to import a workflow type from a test environment or any other database. In addition, you can use this feature to restore a previously exported workflow type.
When you import a workflow type that was exported from the same database, all of the user-defined data, and so on, is already correctly defined, so the workflow type imports without any error messages.
Check User Defined Data with Area = All Workflows and confirm that the settings on the Custom Fields tab and the Source Fields tab are the same before importing the workflow type. If you are missing a field, an error message is generated during the import. You will be able to view the errors by clicking the View Metadata button on the error message.
