The Narrative Score feature enables you to generate and assess narrative scores for Explanation of Variance, Corrective Action, and Impact narratives based on seven criteria using the Assisted Explanation of Variance form.
The Narrative Score feature employs an artificial intelligence tool that utilizes publicly available information and proprietary data created and owned by Deltek. It is provided subject to the PM Compass terms. Deltek does not independently verify the accuracy of each score. Users are encouraged to independently review and verify the accuracy of the narrative score.
The criteria for generating the narrative score are as follows:
Challenges and mitigation
Clarity and conciseness
Completeness
Future outlook
Language and style
Metrics and quantification
Structure
To enable and utilize the Narrative Score feature, you must have valid artificial intelligence login credentials entered into the EPM Security Administrator (EPM SA) tool. You are required to set up your own Azure accounts. For comprehensive details on the terms of service (TOS) and terms of use (TOU), refer to the Microsoft Azure Legal Information on the Microsoft website.
When the information in the EPM SA tool is valid and you have entered your intended narrative on the Assisted Explanation of Variance form, click the Generate Narrative Score button to generate the narrative score.
If the information in the EPM SA tool is invalid or blank, clicking this button displays the following message: "This feature has not been enabled by your organization. Please contact your system administrator to enter AI connection information in the EPM Security Administrator."
In addition, there is a token limit per minute when interacting with Azure OpenAI, depending on your company’s setup. Deltek recommends reviewing the AI model deployment in your subscription and adjusting the token usage/limit accordingly. If needed, submit a quota increase request to Microsoft.
The narrative score, which is a hyperlink, is then displayed next to the button. Clicking the hyperlink displays a read-only view of the detailed narrative score summary.
During the final approval stage of an Assisted Explanation of Variance workflow in PM Compass, the narrative score and a hyperlink to the narrative score criteria summary are copied to Cobra. These values are displayed in the Narrative pane of the Analyze form for the selected control account, along with narratives such as Explanation of Variance, Impact, and Corrective Action.
