Clone a Document

You can clone an existing document in the DMS to use as a basis for a new document if an appropriate template is not available. This feature is only available in Internet Explorer.

To clone a document:

  1. Navigate to the Information Zone, or the Documents tab on an entity record.
  2. Search for the document.
    For information, see Searching for Documents.
  3. Click > Clone document.
  4. Optional: On the Clone Document window, edit the document title and revision.
  5. Optional: Modify the associated document pools and attributes.
  6. Optional: Click Next.
  7. Optional: In the Document Details step, update the document details.
  8. Click Finish.
    The document opens in the associated application.
  9. Modify the content of the document, and then save it.

Postrequisite: After you clone a document, you must complete the procedure to Check in a Document.
