Definition of Terms

Certain terms are used throughout the DLZ module.

Term Definition
Learning Path A learning path is a set of courses with a common theme or learning objective.
Course A course is a learning program designed to provide students with a specific set of skills and competencies.
Class A class is a single instance of a course. For example, the New Managers course may be offered four times a year, once per quarter, with classes called New Managers Q1, New Managers Q2, and so on. The same course content is covered in each class.
Course Watch List/Class Waiting List If a learner wants to attend a class, but the class is currently full, the learner can enter his or her name on a waiting list so that he/she can take it in case an opening occurs. If you want to take a course but the course is not currently offered, you can enter your name on a watch list in case a class is scheduled.
