The settings on the Leave Rounding tab belong to a Rounding Policy and determine how time will be rounded when an employee leaves for break.
Note: When calculating whether a time reporter is inside or outside of their schedule, the system applies the schedule's Applicable Start and End Times.

Leave Brk Amount In
Leave Unit In
Rounding amount for an employee that leaves for break while inside the schedule.
Leave Brk Amount In is the amount of units (defined by the Leave Unit In) contained in each increment when rounding time for an employee that leaves for break while inside the schedule.
Leave Unit In is the units used to determine the rounding amount when an employee leaves for break while inside the schedule. Select Hours, Minutes, or Seconds.
The Leave Brk Amount In and Leave Unit In must agree with the Time Precision for the Rounding Policy. The amount you enter must divide evenly into 60 minutes.

Leave Brk Dir In
Rounding direction used when an employee leaves for break while inside the schedule. Determines the direction that the Rounding Policy will move when the employee leaves for break inside the schedule.
NEAREST: Calculation will pick the nearest accepted time value.
FORWARD: Timestamp will be calculated on a forward basis.
BACKWARD: Timestamp will be calculated on a backward basis.
Leave Brk Basis In
Rounding basis used when an employee leaves for break while inside the schedule. Determines where to start calculating the leave-for-break time when the employee is inside the schedule
HOUR: Calculation will start at the top of the actual hour when the employee leaves for break.
SCHEDULE EVENT START: Calculation will start from the scheduled start of the event.
SCHEDULE START: Calculation will start precisely at the schedule start.

SCHEDULE START: Calculation will start precisely at the schedule start.
Click Main Menu > Configuration > Policies > Rounding Policy.
Select the Rounding Group to which you want to add/modify leave rounding values.
Click Modify.
Go to the Leave Rounding tab and make the necessary changes.
Click Save.
In the following examples, the Rounding Policy has Time Precision set to Minute.
Example – Leave for Break Time Rounding to the Hour
In this example, the employee has a scheduled punched lunch from 11:15 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. The employee leaves for break inside the schedule at 11:16 a.m. The Leave Rounding settings are:
Leave Brk Amount In = 6
Leave Unit In= Minutes
Leave Brk Dir In = Backward
Leave Brk Basis In = Hour
The employee’s leave-for-break time is rounded to 11:12 a.m. (backward to the next 6-minute interval from the top of the hour – 11, 11:06, 11:12, 11:18, etc.).
Example – Leave for Break Time Rounding to the Schedule Event Start
In this example, the employee has a scheduled punched lunch from 11:15 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. The employee leaves for break inside the schedule at 11:16 a.m. The Leave Rounding settings are:
Leave Brk Amount In = 6
Leave Unit In = Minutes
Leave Brk Dir In = Backward
Leave Brk Basis In = Schedule Event Start
The employee’s leave-for-break time is rounded to 11:15 a.m. (backward to the next 6-minute interval from the start of the scheduled event – 11:15, 11:21, 11:27, etc.).
