The settings on the Labor Rounding tab belong to a Rounding Policy and define how time will be rounded when an employee starts or stops labor.
Note: When calculating whether a time reporter is inside or outside of their schedule, the system applies the schedule's Applicable Start and End Times.

Labor Amount In
Labor Unit In
Rounding amount for an employee that starts/stops labor while inside the schedule.
Labor Amount In is the amount of units (defined by the Labor Unit In) contained in each increment when rounding time for an employee that starts/stops labor while inside the schedule.
Labor Unit In is the units used to determine the rounding amount when an employee starts/stops labor while inside the schedule. Select Hours, Minutes, or Seconds.
The Labor Amount In and Labor Unit In must agree with the Time Precision for the Rounding Policy. The amount you enter must divide evenly into 60 minutes.

Labor Dir In
Rounding direction used when an employee starts or stops labor while inside the schedule. Determines the direction in which the Rounding Policy will move when the employee starts/stops labor inside the schedule.
NEAREST: Calculation will pick the nearest accepted time value.
FORWARD: Timestamp will be calculated on a forward basis.
BACKWARD: Timestamp will be calculated on a backward basis.
Labor Basis In
Rounding basis used when an employee starts or stops labor while inside the schedule. Determines where to start calculating the labor start/stop time when inside the schedule.
HOUR: Calculation will start at the top of the actual hour that the employee starts or stops the labor.
SCHEDULE START: Calculation will start precisely at the employee’s scheduled start time.
Labor Amount Out
Labor Unit Out
Rounding amount for an employee that starts/stops labor while outside the schedule.
Labor Amount Out is the amount of units (defined by the Labor Unit Out) contained in each increment when rounding time for an employee that starts/stops labor while outside the schedule.
Labor Unit Out is the units used to determine the rounding amount when an employee starts/stops labor while outside the schedule. Select Hours, Minutes, or Seconds.

Click Main Menu > Configuration > Policies > Rounding Policy.
Select the Rounding Group to which you want to add/modify return rounding values.
Click Modify.
Go to the Labor Rounding tab and make the necessary changes.
Click Save.
In the following examples, the Rounding Policy has Time Precision set to Minute.
Example – Labor Rounding to the Hour
Labor Amount In = 6
Labor Unit In= Minutes
Labor Dir In = Nearest
Labor Basis In = Hour
Employee’s schedule is 7:15 a.m. to 3:45 p.m. with no grace periods.
Employee starts labor at 7:22 a.m. and stops labor at 12:26 p.m.
Labor start rounds to 7:24 a.m. (nearest 6-minute interval from the 7:00 hour – 7:00, 7:06, 7:12, 7:18, 7:24, etc.).
Labor stop rounds to 12:24 p.m. (nearest 6-minute interval from the 12:00 hour – 12:00, 12:06, 12:12, 12:18, 12:24, etc.).
Example – Leave for Break Time Rounding to the Schedule Start
Labor Amount In = 6
Labor Unit In= Minutes
Labor Dir In = Nearest
Labor Basis In = Schedule Start
Employee’s schedule is 7:15 a.m. to 3:45 p.m. with no grace periods.
Employee starts labor at 7:25 a.m. and stops labor at 12:26 p.m.
Labor start rounds to 7:27 a.m. -- nearest 6-minute interval from the scheduled start time of 7:15. The intervals based on this scheduled start time are 7:15, 7:21, 7:27, etc.
Labor stop rounds to 12:27 p.m. – also the nearest 6-minute interval from the scheduled start time of 7:15. The intervals based on this scheduled start time are 15, 21, 27, 33, etc. minutes past the hour.
