Attendance Reward Rule Operands

Use this operand to get the number of transactions for specific events in a specific date range.

Use the Event Group parameter to specify the events to consider. The Range Amount and Range Type specify the time period over which these transactions will be counted.

Only non-cancelled transactions will be included.

Example:

This rule counts the number of events in the Event Group called Ineligible_Events that were posted in the last three calendar months. If this amount is equal to zero, then the last three calendar months will be marked as eligible for an attendance award (4 hours added to the VAC balance).

IF:

Parameters:

Event Group = This parameter determines which events the ATTENDANCE_REWARD service will look for. Event Groups are defined in the Event Group Event form.

Range Amount = Number of months, weeks, days, etc. (specified by the Range Type parameter) that the ATTENDANCE_REWARD service will examine when looking for the events in the Event Group. The service also uses the person’s Anchor Date to determine this range (see below).

Range Type = Select Calendar Months, Calendar Weeks (start on Sunday), Days, Months, Weeks, or Years.

The service uses the Range Amount and Range Type parameters to determine the period of time to look for the events in the Event Group. This range will usually begin on the date after the person’s Anchor Date and continue for the specified Range Amount and Range Type.

However, if you select Calendar Months or Calendar Weeks as your Range Type, the range will begin on the start of the calendar month or week that is after the Anchor Date. For example, if the Anchor Date is 01/02/2015 and the Range Type is Calendar Months, the range will begin on 02/01/2015. If the Range Type is Months, the range will begin on 01/03/2015.

Operator = After you set he above parameters, right-click the Add Operator icon and select an operator (Divide, Equal To, etc.). This operator and the corresponding Value you enter will define the number of items the service will look for.

 

Use this operand to determine whether the number of transactions for specific events in a specific date range has exceeded a threshold.

Threshold = Maximum number of event postings for the events in the Event Group. This operand checks to see if any of the events in the Event Group were posted more than this Threshold during the specified range.

 

This operand creates an Eligibility record for a specified Leave Type Code and Balance Amount. The record date will be the end date of the given range. You can view these records in the Attendance Reward form.

Example:

If the number of events in the Event Group called Ineligible_Events that were posted in the last three months is equal to zero, then the last three calendar months will be marked as eligible for an attendance award (4 hours added to the VAC balance).

Balance (Leave Type) Code = Indicates the balance that will be used for the Attendance Reward. Available options are defined in the Leave Type Code form.

Balance Amount = Number of hours that will be added to the Leave Type Code for this Attendance Reward.

Range Amount = Number of months, weeks, days, etc. (specified by the Range Type parameter) that the ATTENDANCE_REWARD service will use to determine the period of time to mark eligible. The service also uses the person’s Anchor Date to determine this range (see below).

Range Type = Select Calendar Months, Calendar Weeks (start on Sunday), Days, Months, Weeks, or Years.

When the service processes this range it will create an eligibility record for the person based on the criteria in the operand’s parameters. The service will then look for the next range to process. The next range will begin the date after the eligibility record in the previous range. Note that if your Range Type is Calendar Months or Calendar Weeks, the next range will begin on the start of the calendar month or week that is after the previous eligibility record. For example, if the Range Type is Calendar Months and an eligibility record was created on 01/02/2015, the next range that is processed will begin on 02/01/2015. If the Range Type is Months, the next range that is processed will begin on 01/03/2015.

 

This operand creates a Violation record for every non-cancelled transaction for the specified events that posted in the specified range. The violation record date will be the post date of the transaction. You can view these violation records in the Attendance Reward form.

Example:

If any of the events in the Event Group called Ineligible_Events were posted more than once in the last three calendar months, then these transactions will be marked as violations.

This operand returns the opposite of the value in the parameter.

Parameters:

Value = Enter a value in this field or right-click and choose an operand to calculate this value.

 

This operand will stop processing all rules in the ruleset for the person and the date being processed, even if there are more rules in the ruleset that are sequenced after this rule.

 

The True operand always returns a value of True. For example, to make sure that a rule is executed in all circumstances, create an IF clause with only the True operand.
