Check Detail inquiry

unavailable in ajeraCore unless you have the Payroll add-on

Use this inquiry to see information, such as pays, fringes, and deductions, as well as transactions, associated with paid employee paychecks for the current year.

See the Check Summary inquiry to see totals for the detail that appears on an employee paycheck and then drill down to the Check Detail inquiry.

Using the inquiry

From the Inquiry menu, click Payroll > Check Detail.

Do this

Show paychecks for a previous year

Add a new condition as follows:

Click .
Click the Conditions tab.
In the Payroll Year condition, select the year you want to report on in the field on the right.

Inquiry conditions

The inquiry automatically contains a condition to show only data with a payroll year of 2008. You can always add, change, or delete conditions on an inquiry.

Groups

This inquiry is grouped by Employee and the item type (Pay, Deduction, Fringe, and so on). You can always group or ungroup columns, as needed.

Standard columns

Employee		The full name of the employee
Item Type		The type of item on the paycheck, such as Employee Taxes or Deductions
Item Description		The description of the check detail item, such as Regular or Payroll Variance
GL Account Description	GL Account	The name of the associated General Ledger account
GL Department	Department	unavailable in ajeraCore unless you have the Departments add-on If a pay entity, it is from the general ledger detail; otherwise, it lists the employee department
Check Number	Check Summary	The number of the paycheck
Pay Date		The date of the payroll
Hours		The total number of hours worked in the pay period	x
Employee Amount		The amount of pay earned by the employee or deducted from the employee's pay	x
Employer Amount		The amount of pay contributed by the employer (such as a fringe benefit) or paid by the employer (such as state disability)	x

You can add predefined columns to this inquiry. Many columns are available, organized in these categories:

Payroll Key		The database identifier of the payroll associated with this check
Description		The description of the payroll
Payroll Status		The status of the payroll
Payroll Year		The year the payroll occurs
Payroll Quarter		The quarter the payroll occurs
Current Year		The current year
Payroll Company Key		Multi-company only. The database identifier of the company associated with the payroll
Payroll Company Name		Multi-company only. The name of the company associated with the payroll
Paycheck:
Pay Check Key		The database identifier of the paycheck associated with this check
Check Status		The status of the paycheck
Is Employer		When associated with a tax, it specifies if the tax is an employer obligation.
Order		The order of the pay item on the paycheck Example: You may sort the inquiry by order so it mirrors the order on the paycheck.
Accrual Pay Description		The description of the accrual pay, such as vacation and sick

GL Company Key		Multi-company only. The name of the GL company associated with the check
GL Company Name		Multi-company only. The name of the GL company associated with the check

Supervisor Key	Employee	The database identifier for the supervisor of the employee associated with this check
