Sort View Table (Multi-Project)

The Sort View table on the Contract View tab displays the schedule variance (SV), cost variance (CV), and variance at completion (VAC), by contract and element, for the selected level of the structure (the work breakdown structure, for example).

Table Format

The Sort View table is a straight (non-pivot) table. You can double-click any column heading to sort the rows based on the values in that column. You can also drag columns to a new location to change their order.

Table Data

The Sort View table displays variance values for the selected contract for an element at a selected level of the hierarchy as of the period selected in Period. In addition, it displays performance and trend indicator columns for each variance type.

Column Description
Contract This column displays the contract associated with each of the elements in the Level column. To focus your analysis on one contract, click that contract in this column or in the Contracts with Actuals Up Through list.
Level This column displays elements at the selected level in the selected structure (the WBS, for example). To focus your analysis, you can select one element or any set of elements that are listed together. To select a set of elements that are listed together, click and drag to make the selection.

Click next to the column heading to select the structure level for which you want to display variances. You can select any of the first 3 levels of the structure. If you want to go to a lower level of the structure, first select that contract and then click the Drill to Detail Analysis button in the upper-right corner of the tab.

Whether or not indirect costs and management reserve are displayed in the grid is based on your selection in Exclude Indirect under Data Options.

If you select a parent element without children (or at least one child element), the three Bottom variance tables and three Top variance tables would not contain any data except for a message, informing you to select at least one lowest element for the rollup aggregation. In addition, the Indented Pivot View table would be empty.

SV, CV, VAC (colored cells) These performance indicator columns display color-coded performance and trend information based on the selected period for schedule variance, cost variance, and variance at completion, respectively.

The colors and arrows are determined by the change threshold settings that your wInsight system administrator establishes for each contract in wInsight. The colors indicate cumulative or current performance based on the thresholds, and the arrows indicate if that performance represents a significant positive or negative trend, compared to the prior period.

A legend at the bottom of the tab displays the thresholds.

SV This column displays the cumulative or current schedule variance amount or schedule variance percentage for each element.

To filter for specific values, click in the column heading and, between the asterisks in the search box, type one or more characters that those values contain. You can also filter for values using <, >, or = (>0 for example). For this type of filter, be sure to delete the asterisks from the search box.

CV This column displays the cumulative or current cost variance amount or cost variance percentage for each element.

To filter for specific values, click in the column heading and, between the asterisks in the search box, type one or more characters that those values contain. You can also filter for values using <, >, or = (>0 for example). For this type of filter, be sure to delete the asterisks from the search box.

VAC This column displays either the variance at completion amount or variance at completion percentage for each element.

To filter for specific values, click in the column heading and, between the asterisks in the search box, type one or more characters that those values contain. You can also filter for values using <, >, or = (>0 for example). For this type of filter, be sure to delete the asterisks from the search box.
