Credit Control Concepts

Credit Control gives credit controllers an overview of outstanding invoices per customer. It also allows them to record details of their calls as an event each time they contact a customer.

  • Invoice overview with days overdue displayed in colors.
  • Create Collection event flow.
  • Email customer statement.

In Cash Collection table, the field displaying the Days Overdue gives the credit controller an easy overview of when to take actions and provide features that will help get the payments as fast as possible.

In the table, the Credit Controller can also generate cash collection events.

The Collections workspace enables users to follow up on their cash collection activities.

Cash Control Tips

  • Use the Action Email Customer Statement to mail both statement and selected invoices to the customer.
  • Use To Dos to remind you when it is time to follow up with customer.

Email Customer Statement

Select one or more invoices to be mailed to the customer together with the statement.

Note: From Maconomy 3.0, old Credit Control notification types have been removed and replaced with new ones. These new notifications work the same way but are treated as new records in the system.

After the upgrade, you will need to manually add the new Credit Control notifications to the appropriate notification groups. To keep the system running smoothly, we recommend assigning these notifications only to groups that include users who handle credit control tasks. Avoid assigning them to all users.

For steps on how to add a notification group, please refer to the Add a Group to a Notification procedure.
