    Contents of this Service Pack
This release does not contain any changes in this area.
    Technical Considerations

    Core Maconomy Considerations

    User Login and Maconomy License

Previously, active users were calculated based on the number of users whose passwords were not blocked. The calculation has been changed in Maconomy 2.6.3 to base on the users' validity period.

There will be no automatic data conversion, so the number of active users could exceed the number of licenses after the upgrade, and you need to manually change the validity period for those users that require modification.

MConfig Version Support Update and Feature Deprecations

Maconomy 2.6.4 now uses MConfig 11.0, which does not support the installation, maintenance, or configuration of Maconomy 2.3 (Internal Version 19) or older versions. However, you can still use older versions of MConfig for Maconomy 2.3 and previous releases.

With MConfig 10.3, deprecation warnings display when starting MConfig on a server that has old Maconomy versions installed regardless of whether newer Maconomy versions are already installed on the server.

    Known Issues

Review Known Issues for information on unresolved software issues, in particular, known issues introduced with this release.

    People Planner / Maconomy Integration

Two features, "Grouping of Budget Lines" and "Imported Resource Allocations," found within Imported Resource Allocations, are incompatible. If you want to use the latest Resource Allocation integration, which sends planning back to Maconomy to form a periodic resource budget/forecast, you should not use Grouping, as it is not supported for this workflow.

    APU Installation Notes

The Synchronous Notifications feature requires setup. See the System Admin Guide for details.
The Access Control for Approvers feature is included in this version, which provides restricted access to approval items. Maconomy 2.5.1 (and newer versions) comes with a default setting that can be modified to support individual customer needs. Refer to the Deltek Maconomy 2.5.x Enhancements Guide, Deltek Tracking 1174941, for details, including recommendations on actions prior to going live with this release.

    TPU Installation Notes

Two features, "Grouping of Budget Lines" and "Imported Resource Allocations," found within Imported Resource Allocations, are incompatible. If you want to use the latest Resource Allocation integration, which sends planning back to Maconomy to form a periodic resource budget/forecast, you should not use Grouping, as it is not supported for this workflow.
    • The .bash shell (version 7.04) is required for all Unix/Linux installations.
    • Customized dictionaries for the Workspace Client are handled by the Extender. Refer to the Extender Handbook for details. The Extender ensures that both dynamic and static texts are updated.

    Surrogate Characters Not Supported

Surrogate characters are characters not representable in 2 bytes in UTF-16. They are mostly used in Chinese for representing seldom used characters. Maconomy currently does not support surrogate characters.

    Local Characters in Variable Names

Variable names in MScript may no longer contain non-ASCII characters. As of version 2.1, Maconomy no longer supports the use of Scandinavian letters ('æ ø å Æ Ø Å' ) in variable names in all Maconomy languages, including MScript, RGL, portal files, and MSL.

    Unnecessary Error Occurs During Installation
When performing an APU upgrade using version 2.4 GA or later of the Maconomy Server, a PPU_Warning related to popup values might appear in the PPUDebug file as PPU_Warning. These messages are expected during the APU upgrade process as the database is temporarily in a state that this neither the old version nor the new version. Ignore the messages and continue the installation. See defect 577837 for more information.

    Default Database Query Timeout
The default database query timeout might interfere with Maconomy Analyzer report queries which are expected to run for more than 5 minutes. In you are using such Analyzer reports you can increase the database query timeout with the following setting in 'MaconomyCustom.ini':
    • [ServerConfig]
    • DB_Cancellation_DefaultTimeout = <timeout-in-seconds>

    Touch Considerations

The following are the considerations for Touch app version 4.5:

To improve security, Touch has removed some data references previously stored by the app.

If you are upgrading from Touch 4.3.1 or older, you will encounter an error message and must enter the Touch URL, your login credentials, and set up biometrics and/or a PIN code. This is a one-time action. The next time you open the app, authentication will be via biometrics and/or PIN code. If you have customized your settings, you must re-enter the changes in the Settings screen.

Deltek Touch for Maconomy supports mobile devices that run on Android 12 and Apple iOS 17 (or later).
Attention: For more information about the Touch installation requirements, see the Deltek Touch 4.5 for Maconomy 2.6.7 Admin Guide.

    Web Client Considerations

Change to Default Text Matching Strategy

When conducting a search in the web client, the default text matching strategy has been updated to use the "startsWith" operator instead of "contains" for improved efficiency. Consequently, all string columns in list views will now default to the “startsWith” operator. Searches initiated from the workspace's top search field, as well as string fields within cards and tables, will adhere to this new functionality, unless the search term is prefixed with an asterisk (`*`), which will revert the behavior to “contains.”

This global default is configurable by editing the textMatching property in the settings.json file.

End of Support for Multiple Logins in a Single Browser Session

The ability to log in as multiple users in the same browser session is no longer available. This change supports REST API enhancements for improved authentication and performance.

To achieve the same functionality, use one of the following alternatives:
    • Browser Profiles: Modern browsers like Chrome, Firefox, and Safari support separate profiles with independent cookies and site data.
    • Private Browsing: Use private/incognito mode for temporary multi-session access.
Refer to your browser's help documentation for setup instructions.

Job Entries Workspace Refactoring: JSON Layout Changes

As part of the refactoring in Maconomy 2.6.4, the JSON layout files associated with the Job Entries workspace have been restructured:
    • The JobEntries\JobEntries_DataBindings.json file has been split into smaller, modular files to facilitate easier reuse in other workspaces.

    • The JobEntries_ prefix has been removed from file names to simplify copying these files to other workspaces, such as those under the General Ledger menu group.
The refactored Job Entries workspace is expected to maintain its previous functionality. Users should observe no changes in operational behavior after the update, as the changes are primarily structural.

Technical teams are encouraged to review these updates if they manage customized configurations or extensions for the Job Entries workspace.

    Continuous Scrolling in Tables

This 2.6.4 feature (Deltek Tracking: 2110355) replaces paging in tables.

    Customized Workspaces

Please note that if you have customized web client workspaces, there will be a task for an extension consultant to make these workspaces work after the upgrade to 2.6.4.

Specifically, for Maconomy 2.6.3 the Open In List View enhancement requires that the settings.json file has the openInListMode property defined.

Attention: For more information about the web client installation, see the Maconomy Web Client Install Guide.

    Long-Running Operations

The current version of the web client does not support long-running operations. If an operation exceeds two minutes, it will be automatically canceled by the web server. Additionally, progress bars, which are available in the workspace client to indicate operation progress, are not present in the current web client version. For instance, this may occur during batch invoicing when handling a large number of jobs, resulting in timeouts. Users experiencing this issue are advised to use the Workspace Client for such processes. Alternatively, the timeout duration on the web server can be configured beyond the default two minutes.

Long-running process support will be added in a future Maconomy release.

    Analyzer Reports

Analyzer reports accessed from the workspace client will now open in a browser window by default. A prerequisite for this is that the URL for the web client is specified in the system parameter URL for Web Client and that the analyzer reports are available in the web client menu. Customers who want to continue using the java analyzer can change this configuration with MConfig.
Attention: For DFME customers, the Java Analyzer client is no longer available. You can access analyzer reports through the web Analyzer.

    Logging in via OAuth

Users who log in to the Workspace Client via Open Authorization (OAuth)-based options will now do so using an external browser.

    Statutory/BPM Considerations

The file that stores area-specific settings related to Statutory/BPM extensions and logging is renamed from server.ini to extension.ini.

Attention: When running reports, you may encounter error messages that inaccurately refer to the extension.ini file as server.ini. All updates for Statutory/BPM related settings must go to the extension.ini file only.

    People Planner Considerations

MyPlan Users Upgrading to Maconomy 2.6.3 or Later

If you are using the native Maconomy Web Client version of People Planner’s MyPlan and plan to upgrade to Maconomy 2.6.3 or later, you must also upgrade People Planner to version 4.6 or later.

Failure to do so will result in MyPlan becoming non-functional, as it references fields that are not available in earlier versions of People Planner.

To maintain functionality without upgrading People Planner, customize the MyPlan layout to remove references to the non-existent fields. These include:
    • Job/Task Name
    • Main Job Customer Number
    • Main Job Name
    • Number of Hours

People Planner 4.6 has updated the ASP.NET Core Hosting Bundle used by Security Service, the Rest API, and the Web Admin Tool from .NET 6 to .NET 8.  Other applications such as People Planner Windows applications and the Web Components use .NET Framework 4.8.

The page tooltip is now removed from all People Planner Web Components to optimize performance.

    Touch Security Enhancements

    Deltek Tracking: 2319480

To improve security, Touch has removed some data references previously stored by the app.

If you are upgrading from Touch 4.3.1 or older, you will encounter an error message and must enter the Touch URL, your login credentials, and set up biometrics and/or a PIN code. This is a one-time action. The next time you open the app, authentication will be via biometrics and/or PIN code. If you have customized your settings, you must re-enter the changes in the Settings screen.

New Features
  • General Application

Print Import Help Action on Import Program Reference Workspaces

Previously, the Help function in import program reference workspaces required users to specify a file before generating a help file. To improve usability, the Print Import Help action is now available across all import program reference workspaces, as well as in the Job Journal and General Journal workspaces. This action allows users to generate a help file without providing or uploading a file. Clicking it automatically downloads the help file for the import program to your system.

    Changes to Maconomy
In all the import program reference workspaces, the Help checkbox in the dialog box that appears when you click Import... has been removed and a new Print Import Help action has been added.
The Print Import Help action has also been added to the import wizards in these workspaces:
    • Jobs » Job Administration » Job Journal workspace
    • General Ledger » Financial Operations » General Journal workspace

Disabling Automatic Grouping of Entries in Web Analyzer Reports

    Deltek Tracking: 2311207
The web Analyzer automatically groups entries or lines with the same key fields into a single entry (for example, General Ledger entries for the same account and for the same date). Users can now opt to disable this functionality by clearing the new Aggregate columns checkbox before they run an Analyzer report. They will then get a report with all the entries displayed.
This enhancement, when combined with the existing export functionality of the web Analyzer, provides an alternative to exporting individual entries from tables where the web client imposes a 5,000-line limit.

    Changes to Maconomy
The Aggregate columns checkbox is part of the Advanced card tab which is now added to all standard web Analyzer report workspaces. This checkbox is selected by default.

  • Web Client Framework

Support for Horizontal Orientation of Radio Buttons

    Deltek Tracking: 2374664
You now have the option to customize the orientation of radio buttons in your layout so they display horizontally instead of the default vertical orientation.
The orientation property is introduced to support this customization.

Progress Bars in Tables and Filters

    Deltek Tracking: 2210799
You now have the option to display the values for specific columns in web client tables and filters as progress bars.
Refer to the Deltek Maconomy Web Client Install Guide for more information regarding the various customizations available.

    Adding Predefined Restrictions to Tables

    Deltek Tracking: 2146139
System owners can now add predefined restrictions to web client tables. Specifically, they can customize the following:
    • The addition of a Display Options dropdown
    • The search restrictions available in that dropdown
    • The default value/restriction selected
    • Whether the Display Options dropdown displays only for users that meet specific criteria (for example, users from a specific company)

If search restrictions are set up for a table, users can click the Display Options action to view the dropdown that lists the available restrictions and select one to filter the table lines.

Users can also utilize this functionality to create custom search favorites in the web client; they can then select any of their search favorites from the Display Options dropdown.

Note: This functionality has limited availability in tree tables. That is, if you configure a predefined restriction for a tree table, the web client applies that as a default restriction to the table. The Display Options action will not be available so users cannot undo or replace that restriction.

    Changes to Maconomy
As part of this functionality, the following web client workspaces are now updated with predefined restrictions:
    • Job Entries - All tables under the Transaction tab
    • Contact Companies - Events tab
    • Opportunities - Events tab

Confirmation Alerts Before Accessing External Links

    Deltek Tracking: 2284885
It is now possible to enable confirmation alerts that will display for users before they open a link that will take them outside of the Maconomy web client.
The confirmation dialog contains the following message: "By clicking Continue, you acknowledge that you are being redirected to a third-party site. Deltek is not responsible for the data you share or your interactions with this third party." It also displays the URL the user is about to open.

    Setup Instructions
By default, this option is disabled globally.
To enable this option, system administrators can use the following properties:
    • confirmExternalLink - Add this property to the links element in the Settings.json file. Set to true to enable confirmation alerts globally.
    • confirmLink - Add this property to specific link elements in the .json files for the layouts you want to customize. Set to true to enable confirmation alerts for those links. The link-specific setting overrides the global configuration.
  • BPM and Statutory Reporting

Netherlands - DAF: Dutch Audit File Version 4.0 Update

    Deltek Tracking: 2353509
The Maconomy Dutch Audit File (DAF) data export has been updated to comply with the DAF version 4.0 released by the Dutch government. The update includes reducing the total number of XML fields from 250 to only 90 fields, as well as modifying existing fields to enhance the functionality and usability of the audit file.

    Reporting on Resource Allocation

    Deltek Tracking: 2309405
The Job Budgeting universe has been enhanced with objects making it possible to report on allocated figures entered in People Planner and made available in Maconomy through People Planner integration. With the new objects, it is possible to create Web Intelligence reports that display how many hours/days an employee has been allocated to tasks in a job budget, as well as associated costs and billing prices.

    Refresh Instance Overview Report

    Deltek Tracking: 2185295
You can now monitor and track how frequently Web Intelligence (WebI) reports are accessed within a selected period. The Refresh Instance Overview report provides real-time insight into user engagement by counting the number of refresh instances across reports. This helps identify which reports must be prioritized for performance optimization, improvement and testing.

To access the Refresh Instance Overview report, log into the BI Launch Pad then select Folders » Public Folders » Auditing Analysis » Refresh Instance Overview.
  • Project Management

Allow Revenue Recognition by Completion Percentage on Jobs with Handling of Overruns

    Deltek Tracking: 2380903
You can now enable both Revenue Recognition by Completion Percentage and Handling of Overruns in the same job parameter. Previously, these two options could not be combined in the same job parameter. This update supports scenarios where revenue is recognized by completion percentage while ensuring that total revenue does not exceed the fixed price.
  • Finance

Grouping Compensation Models for Base Salary Pay Calculation

    Deltek Tracking: 1132860
Maconomy now supports selecting and grouping multiple compensation models to run in a single base salary pay calculation. This enhancement streamlines payroll processing for teams handling multiple countries or companies, reducing the need for separate tasks for each compensation model.

    Show Job Entry Payment Information

    Deltek Tracking: 2367156

The Show Job Entry Payment Information single dialog workspace/workspace is now available in the Maconomy Workspace Client and the Maconomy Web Client.

This read-only single dialog workspace/workspace provides visibility into job entry payment details related to vendor invoices. It includes the following key fields:
    • Vendor No.
    • Customer No.
    • Vendor Invoice No.
    • Job No.
    • Job Entry No.

This single dialog workspace/workspace helps users understand how vendor invoices are linked to job entries, making it easier to identify why a vendor entry may not yet be ready for payment when the EnablePaymentWhenPaid functionality is in use.

    Changes to Maconomy
The Show Job Show Job Entry Payment Information single dialog workspace/workspace is added to the following:
    • Single Dialogs » Job Cost » Lookup in the Maconomy Workspace Client.
    • Reference » Job Cost » Lookup in the Maconomy Web Client.

Approval Hierarchy Setup in the Web Client

    Deltek Tracking: 1875643
Users can now set up and manage approval hierarchies directly in the web client. This includes everything from defining rules to organizing employee groups and advanced references.

Users can define approval hierarchy rules by approval type, set up selection criteria and approval chains, configure related system parameters, and create or manage both employee groups and advanced references.

To support these functionalities, the following workspaces have been added to the web client:
    • Approval Hierarchy Rules
    • Approval Hierarchy Selections
    • Employee Groups
    • Advanced References

    Changes to Maconomy
These workspaces have been added under Setup » Approval Hierarchies submenu in the Web Client.
  • System Admin

    Maconomy Essentials Containerization Updates

    Deltek Tracking: 2331001, 2268077
The configuration and management of secrets (passwords and API keys) in the containerized solution have been redesigned and enhanced to support ExternalSecret and AWS SecretsManager.

In the values configuration of the 'maconomy' and 'maconomy-maintenance' Helm charts, a new section called 'secrets' has been introduced. This section consolidates all secret values that need to be available to the Maconomy container at runtime, replacing the previously scattered secret values across various sections in the chart configuration.

Software Issues Resolved
  • General Application
G/L Purchase Order Lines with Job Number Could Have Blank Activity
When a G/L purchase order line included a job number but no activity, Maconomy triggered an error during invoice preparation. G/L lines are now ignored during invoice preparation, as they are treated as financial postings, preventing the error.
    Defect: 1989209
    Missing Analyzer Reports After Relogin
Analyzer Reports were occasionally missing after you relogged in as a different user, then relogged in again as the first user with access to said reports. This is now corrected.
    Defect: 2340389
    Refreshed Table Displays Incorrect Records
When you refreshed a table based on a Maconomy filter pane, it loaded an incorrect number of records, causing some previously displayed records to disappear. This error is corrected.
    Defect: 2386447
    Other Actions Menu Items
If the Other Actions menu had a large amount of listed items, it overflowed the screen height and hid actions at the bottom. This issue has been fixed. The Other Actions menu now has a maximum height and a vertical scrollbar now appears when the listed actions exceed this, enabling you to scroll down to access them.
    Defect: 1963977
    Table Column Error
When you dragged a column to a different location in a table that has dynamic columns (such as those with visibility restrictions), this would either fail or display an error. This issue has been fixed.
    Defect: 2025468
Empty Branch Element in Peppol File
When you included a branch element in the Peppol mapping with only optional leaves, the branch element was not omitted from the Peppol file even if all leaves were omitted. This resulted in an empty branch element being included in the Peppol file, causing the validation of the Peppol file to fail. This error was corrected.
    Defect: 2031960
Tabs No Longer Display Upon Scrolling
In workspaces that had tabs that are not available by default (such as dynamic tabs or tabs that are visible only after enabling a system parameter), an error occurred where these tabs would disappear when you scrolled down. This issue has been corrected.
    Defect: 2383128
Error Generating Peppol File with Looped Elements
When you used any of the relations CompanyInformation, CompanyCustomer, JobHeader, or OrderHeader in any of the looped elements in the custom Peppol mapping, an error occurred while generating the Peppol file. This error has been corrected.
    Defect: 2124670
Delete Draft Invoice Action Was Missing in Draft Invoices Workspace
In the web client, the Delete Draft Invoice action was missing from Other Actions in the following locations:
    • Draft Invoices workspace
    • WIP Invoice » Invoice Editing tab
    • Invoice On Account » Invoice Editing tab
    • Customer Invoicing » Invoice Editing tab
    This issue is now fixed.
    Defect: 2198451
    Sales Order Invoice Period
When you created a Sales Order invoice, the Invoice Period still appeared even though the Standard Calculation was set to Optional and there was no value in the Start Date and End Date fields. This error has been corrected. The invoice period now only appears in Sales Order invoices when a start and end date are identified.
    Defect: 2338810

Inconsistent Data After Using Card Action
When you included a card action in the "refreshAfterActions" list in a configuration file for a container, the web client refreshed the container each time this action was used. This was typically used with actions that caused the card record to disappear, such as a journal's Post action or an invoice selection's Print Invoice action. However, if the card record did not disappear for such an action, the result of the applied action was not considered in the data displayed, leading to a corrupted state. This error is corrected.

    Defect: 2358137
    Loading Data in List View
When users scrolled through the list view in the web client, some rows needed to be loaded from the server. If this occurred, all existing rows on the screen would be temporarily replaced with placeholder rows, making it difficult to follow the content of the list. With this fix, only rows being loaded from the server will display placeholder rows.
Additionally, when users scrolled up and down the list, the web client would load more rows, even when it was unnecessary. This issue has also been fixed.

    Defect: 2354422
Containerized Maconomy Not Exposing WSC Update Site
Update site files are now included in the Web Client (WC) image, and the Maconomy image contains a default update site specification. By default, this specification assumes that the WC is accessible on the same host and port as the Maconomy container itself, which is the case when deploying via Kubernetes and Helm charts. If the WC is only accessible from the Workspace Client (WSC) on a different host and/or port, this can be configured for the Maconomy container as an update site root URL (for example, 'https://host:port') using the environment variable, UPDATESITE_ROOT.

Previously, the update site for the Workspace Client (WSC) was not included in the containerized deployment of Maconomy. To get an update site, you had to manually extract the necessary files from the Maconomy image or equivalent TPU and put them on a publicly accessible web server. Then, you had to configure the Maconomy deployment with an MCSL fragment containing an update site specification pointing to the web server.

Helm: Readiness Probe Failures Impacting Multiple Pods
Readiness failure events of individual 'maconomy' pods could propagate to the 'webclient' and 'mscript-ws' pods deployed for the same tenant, causing their readiness probes to fail as well. This issue is particularly problematic during periods of high load, where some 'maconomy' pods may become overloaded and temporarily report as unready to clear their backlog of outstanding requests. Consequently, a significant fraction of the 'webclient' or 'mscript-ws' pods could be temporarily removed from the load balancer, even though they were not overloaded and could have continued to service incoming requests.
