Assets Tab of Employee Info Center
Use this tab to view asset items that an employee is currently assigned to.
This tab displays if your firm uses Vision Asset Management and your security role gives you rights to access the tab.
Access rights to the tab are specified for a security role on the Access Rights tab in Security Roles Configuration. Your security role will have access if Application Tabs is selected in the Functional Area field on the Access Rights tab and either the Full access to all tabs check box selected or if it is not selected, Assets has been moved from the Hidden Tabs list to the Viewable Tabs list when Employees is selected in the Application field.
Asset items are stored in the Equipment Info Center. You assign employees to an asset item on the Assignments tab in the Equipment Info Center. This allows you to track employees and the asset items that they use and return. For example, if your firm issues a laptop computer to an employee, you can assign the specific employee to the laptop asset item on the Assignments tab in the Equipment Info Center.
If you use Vision Multicompany, the following applies:
- The data that you enter on this tab applies to the company that the current record is associated with.
- The tabs and fields that display are based on the company that the current record is associated with. For example, if the employee is associated with four different companies but only one company has access to Vision Payroll, the Payroll tab of the Employee Info Center will only display when you are viewing that company's record.
- The values that are available in the individual fields/lookups are based on the company that the record is associated with. For example, the Timesheet Groups that are available in the Group drop-down are only those Timesheet Groups that are associated with the current company.
- If the Automatically retrieve your record in Employee Info Center/Employee Review option is selected in User Options, the employee record that automatically loads will be for the home company that is associated with the current record. If the record is associated with multiple companies, the home company record will display first.

Assigned Assets Grid
This grid displays the asset items that an employee is currently assigned to. The asset item information that displays in this grid comes from the information that is entered for the asset item in the Equipment Info Center.
When an employee returns an asset item and you have cleared the Assigned check box on the Assignments tab in the Equipment Info Center to indicate that the asset item is no longer assigned to the employee, the asset item is removed from this grid.
If you delete from the Equipment Info Center an asset item that is currently assigned to an employee, the row for the asset is removed from this grid.
