Settings Tab of the Asset Review Form or Dialog Box

Use this tab to view asset classification information for your GL book (general ledger) and any additional books information for an asset item.

Settings Grid

After you select an asset item from the Equipment Lookup dialog box in the Search field on the Asset Review form, four rows prefill in the Settings grid. These rows allow you to view the asset type, property type, in-service period, and depreciation method that was entered for the GL book and any additional books that you set up for an asset item. The information that displays in the grid is from the GL Book and Additional Books tabs in the Equipment Info Center.

Field Description
Settings Drop-Down Click the drop-down arrow on a grid header to complete any of the following actions:
  • To print grid data, click Print. When the Print Preview form displays, click File > Print to send the grid data to your default printer.
  • To export grid data to an Excel spreadsheet, click Export to Excel. When Microsoft Excel opens, use its features to modify, print, or email the data, or to save the spreadsheet file locally.
  • To turn on grouping for a grid, click Enable Grouping. When a field displays with the instruction: "Drag a column header here to group by that column," drag and drop column headers into this field, in the sequence that you want them to display.

Not all options are available on all grids.

Settings Grid Fields

This information is retrieved from the GL Book and Additional Books tabs in the Equipment Info Center.

Field Description
Description This column identifies the information that displays in each of the four rows in the grid for each of the columns in the grid (your GL book and any additional books). Each row in the grid prefills with one of the following in the Description field:
  • Asset Type — This is the asset type specified for the asset item.
  • Property Type — This is the property type specified for the asset item.
  • Placed In Service Period — This is the accounting period in which the asset item's in-service date falls.
  • Depreciation Method — This is the depreciation method specified for the asset item.
General Ledger This column displays the information that is specified in the Description column for the GL book. This information is from the GL Book tab in the Equipment Info Center for an asset item.
Additional Book Columns If you set up one or more additional books for an asset item on the Additional Books tab in the Equipment Info Center, a column for each additional book displays in the grid. These columns display the information that is specified in the Description column for the additional books. This information is from the Additional Books tab in the Equipment Info Center for an asset item.
