Use the fields and options to fine tune the column settings in table and chart dashparts.

Field Description
Column Name This field displays the name of the column that you are modifying.
Heading Use this field to enter the heading label to be used for the column in the dashpart. The default value is the column name, but this can be modified as needed.

Column Options

The options displayed on the dialog box vary, based on the data type of the column that you are modifying and the dashpart type. Some options are displayed for string data type columns, while others are displayed only for a specific type of chart dashpart.

Field Description
Chart Type
Use this option to select a chart type for the column that you are working on so that it displays as a secondary chart in the chart dashpart. This option is available if:
  • You are working on a chart dashpart.
  • You are not working on a pie chart.
  • On the Grouping Options dialog box, you set the Group By option to Column or Date Range.
  • You are editing the properties of a numeric type column.

The chart types that are available for this option vary, depending on the chart type of the dashpart.

Display Grand Totals This option displays if the selected column is hours or numeric or currency column types and the dashpart is a table. Select this option to display the grand total of all records in the selected column. If you use multiple currencies, Vantagepoint cannot calculate and display the total values in the table dashpart if the amounts expressed in the columns are in different currencies. In these cases, the columns display ####### in place of the total value.
Display Subtotals

Select this option to display the subtotals at all grouping levels.

This option displays if:
  • You are working on a table dashpart.
  • The selected column is related to amounts or number of hours, decimal, or currency.
  • The dashpart that you are working on is configured with groupings. If you use multiple currencies, Vantagepoint cannot calculate and display the total values in the table dashpart if the amounts expressed in the columns are in different currencies. In these cases, the columns display ####### in place of the grand totals.
Display Zero Amounts This option displays if the selected column data type is a decimal or currency. When working on a chart dashpart, this option displays for all chart dashpart types except for the pie chart dashpart. Select this option to display zero amounts for records that are displayed in the column. If this option is not selected, the records with zero amounts appear blank.
Display Percent Symbol This option displays if:
  • The dashpart type is a table.
  • The selected column data type is a percentage.

Select this option to display the percent symbol on the table dashpart.

Display Decimal Places This option displays if the selected column is related to decimal, currency, or number of hours. Select this option to display the decimal places for values in currency data type columns.
Display Currency Symbol This option displays if the selected column is related to currency amounts. Select this option to display the currency for values in currency data type columns.
Display Currency Code This option displays if the selected column is related to currency amounts. Select this option to display the currency code for values in currency data type columns.

This option is only available when multicurrency is enabled.

Wrap Text This option displays if the selected column is a string data type. Select this option to display the content of a column record in multiple lines to fit the cell.
Color This field displays for all chart dashpart types except for the pie chart dashpart. Use this field to select the color that represents the column in the chart. Colors have a default that you can customize as needed.
Display on 2nd Axis This option displays for all chart dashpart types except for the pie chart dashpart and if the column data type is decimal or currency. Select this option to plot the values of the selected column in a second axis in the chart.
Display as Plot Line This option displays for all chart dashpart types except for the pie chart dashpart and if the column data type is decimal or currency. Select this option to display the column data as a plot line in the chart.
Display by Period This option displays for all chart dashpart types except for the pie chart dashpart and only when the chart is grouped by date range. Select this option to apply a period start and end date based on the date range identified in the grouping. If this option is not selected, all data from the column up through the end date is displayed.
Display Value on Chart This option displays if the column data type is decimal or currency. Select this option to display the numeric values from the column data in the chart.

Conditional Cell Formatting Grid

This option is available for table dashparts and allows you to change the cell text color or background color based on a condition of the data returned in the dashpart. For example, you want to change the color of the AR Amount cell in the dashpart if the AR Amount is > 1,000,000.

Field Description
Type Use this field to select the type of comparison process to be used for the conditional cell format:
  • Static Value: Select this option apply a condition based on a static value that you specify in the Compare To field.
  • Column Compare: Select this option to apply a condition based on a column that you specify in the Compare To field.
Text Color Use this field to select the color of the text to be used in the cell in the dashpart based on the configured condition.
Background Use this field to select the color of the cell background to be used in the dashpart based on the configured condition.
Column Use this field to select a column to be used as part of the condition for the cell formatting. If you want to apply a condition on a column that isn't available, use Select Columns on the Dashpart Designer form to add the column to the dashpart.
Operator Use this field to select the operator to be used for the condition. The selected operator is used to compare the identified column and the entered or selected value for the condition in the Compare To field. Operators you can use vary based on the data type of the selected column.
Compare To Use this field to identify the value to be used as part of the condition for the conditional cell formatting. This field changes, based on your selection in the Type field:
  • If you set the Type field to Static Value, use this field to enter a value for the conditional row formatting.
  • If you set the Type field to Column Compare, use this field to select a column from a drop-down list for the conditional row formatting. The Compare To list includes dashpart columns with the same type as the column that you are modifying.
+ Add Line Click this option to add another row to set up another condition in the Conditional Cell Formatting grid.
Field Description
Apply Click this button to save the column property settings and close the dialog box.
Cancel Click this button to close the dialog box without saving the changes made to the column property settings.
