You use purchase requisitions to request for the acquisition of specified items or services, to which you can provide vendor information and responses.
To create a purchase requisition:

In the Navigation pane, select

On the Purchase Requisitions form, click
+ New Purchase Requisition.

Complete the required fields on the General tab.
In the Line Items grid, insert a row in the grid, enter a line item, and repeat as needed for the items that you need to add to the purchase requisition.

Select the
Need Price Quote checkbox.

In the Suggested Vendors grid, click
+ Add Suggested Vendor and enter all the required details.
Repeat this step to add more suggested vendors.

On the Shipping tab, select a ship-to code.

On the Comments tab, enter additional information that can help you with the specifications of the item.

On the Default Distribution tab, specify at least one project.

Optional: On the Default Vendors tab, select the
Need Price Quote checkbox to add vendors to the Default Vendors grid. Enter one or more suggested vendors.
Default vendors are automatically added to the Suggested vendors grid. For more information, see
Add Default Vendors.

Include vendor responses to the purchase requisition line item.

After you enter vendors, select the
Selected checkbox for the vendor response that you want to associate with the purchase requisition line item.

Click
Save.
Next Steps: On the Actions bar, click
Submit and proceed with the approval of the purchase requisition record:
- If you use approval workflows for approving purchase requisitions, send the purchase requisition to an approver. (You turn on the use of approval workflows for purchase requisitions on the General tab in

- If you do not use approval workflows for approving purchase requisitions, change the purchase requisition status from
In Progress to
Approved.
