Configure the Links of Dashpart Column Values

You can select the table or chart dashpart that you want to display from a linked dashpart column value to access the additional information that you need.

This process applies for table and chart dashparts, and uses existing dashparts to display the additional information. Before you complete this task, verify whether or not the additional information that you need to display is already available in an existing table or chart dashpart in the dashpart library. You might need to create the table or chart dashpart before you complete this task.

In some cases, the table or chart dashpart that you associate with a dashpart column may also have linked dashpart column values. In this case, the linked dashpart column values from the associated table or chart dashpart are disabled when you display those values from the dashpart column that you are configuring.

These steps do not apply when you are using Vantagepoint on a tablet or smart phone.

To configure the links of dashpart column values:

  1. In the Navigation pane, select Dashboards and then select one of these actions:
    • If no dashboards have been created, select Dashboard.
    • If one or more dashboards exist, select a dashboard under one of these submenus: My Dashboards, Personal, or All Dashboards. The submenus available depend on your role’s access rights.
  2. On the Dashboard form, click Edit Mode to enable editing.
The availability of the Edit Mode option is determined by your access rights in Security Settings.

The Edit Mode toggle option is not enabled when you use a tablet or smart phone to access Vantagepoint.

  3. Create or edit a dashpart.
  4. In the column table area of the Dashpart Designer form, click + or under the Drill To column for the dashpart column that you want to configure.
The + or option is not displayed for hidden dashpart columns.
  5. On the Drill To dialog box, in the Drill To field, select the table or chart dashpart.
  6. Optional: Configure the other available options in the Drill To dialog box.
  7. Click Apply to confirm the changes and close the dialog box.
  8. Click Save.
In the dashboard on which the table or chart dashpart is displayed, the symbol is displayed beside the dashpart name in the dashpart header to indicate that a drill-to dashpart was linked to one or more columns in the dashpart. For chart dashparts, the drill-to dashpart name displays in the info bubble when you hover over a chart value.
