If you have a process server set up, you can schedule a favorite report or a standard report to be generated at another time. For example, you can schedule reports to be generated after normal business hours. Select the Schedule option to send a report to the process server queue, which allows you to focus on other tasks at your workstation while the report runs.
Use the Scheduled tab of the Reporting form to edit a scheduled report's options, formats, and other properties, as well as change its schedule. For more information, see
Edit a Scheduled Report.
To schedule a report to run at another time:

On the Reports tab of the Reporting form, select the report by clicking in the grid row for that report.
Both standard and favorite reports are listed in the Reports grid. Favorite reports have
Personal or
Global in the
Type column.
-
On the form specific to the type of report, set options to define the layout, formats, and records included.
-
On the Actions bar of the Reporting form, click
.
-
On the Distribution tab of the Schedule dialog box:
-
In
Start After, set the date and time after which you want the report generated.
-
In
Process Queue, select the queue to which you want to submit the report. Your Administrator provides you with access to process queues. See
Process Queue Manager for more information.
-
If necessary, change the text in the
Description field to describe the scheduled job more clearly.
-
Profiles are groups of processes or reports that are set up in the Profile Editor (in
). These groups enable you to submit the profile as a single process (job) to a process queue. To submit the report to a profile, select
Submit to a Profile and in the field below, select an existing profile. See the
Profile Editor Utility for more information.
-
If you need to place the process on hold (pending approval, for example), select
Place Process on Hold. This option is useful for providing a visual reminder about a job that needs to be run at a future point in time. It is also useful for processes that need further authorization from the
Vantagepoint administrator, or for reasons of resource availability or data security.
-
If you want to receive a notification when the report is finished, select either
Email Me When Done
to send the notification as an email message or
Send Me a Notification When Done to send the notification via the Notification Center. This latter option is useful if you have certain types of jobs for which an alert is desired. To view the Notification Center, click the number that displays in the menu bar. For example,
indicates that there are five notifications.
-
If you want to create an archive copy of the report, select
Create Report Archive and then enter the number of hours that you want to save the archived report in the
Archive Hours field. The option to archive reports is available only if you are using the Standard Edition or Enterprise Edition of Microsoft SQL Server.
-
If you want the report to be run on a regular basis (daily, weekly, monthly, or yearly), on the Recurrence tab, select the
Recurring Activity option and then enter the required information.
-
Click
Schedule.
Vantagepoint displays scheduled reports that were generated in the language that you specified when you logged in for your current session. If you need to edit a report that was scheduled in another language, you must log in under that language. For more information, see
Multiple Languages and Reporting.
