Check Out a Project Plan

To make changes to a plan in the Projects hub, you must check it out. When you check out a plan, it is not available to other users until it is checked back in.

To check out a project plan:
  1. In the Navigation pane, select Hubs > Projects > Plan.
  2. At the top of the Plan form, enter either a complete or partial name or number In the Find project lookup field to find and select an existing project for which you want to check out the plan.
    If the project does not already use the Revenue Forecast allocation method, an informational screen displays and you need to do the following:
    1. Click the link on the screen to go to the project's Estimated Fee tab at Hubs > Projects > Contract Management.
    2. On the Estimated fee tab of the Contract Management form, click next to Allocation Method and select Use Revenue Forecasts from the drop-down menu.
    3. In the Navigation pane, select Hubs > Projects > Plan.
  3. On the Actions bar, click Check Out.

    If no one has the plan checked out, it is checked out to you.

    If someone else has the plan checked out, a message displays when you click Check Out to identify who has it checked out. Included in the message is the person's email address; click the address to compose an email to them about the plan. If your security role has the required access, the message also contains a link that you can click to check in the plan and check it back out to you.
