General Tab of the Weblink Form
Use this tab to specify the database connection information, such as the server name, username, and password. You can also disable the process server or the server-to-server synchronization server on a given database.

| Field | Description |

| Current Database | Select the database that you want to configure. Use the menu to add or remove databases from this list.

| SQL Server | Enter the name of the database server, as entered in Microsoft SQL Server. |
| Database Name | Enter the name of the Vantagepoint database to which you are connecting. |
| Description | Enter the description for the preceding database as it will appear on the Vantagepoint login screen. |
| Windows Authentication |
Select this checkbox to use Windows Authentication for connections with the Vantagepoint database. When you use Windows Authentication, the Application Pool identity is automatically passed to the SQL Server for authentication. If you select this checkbox, then the SQL Username and SQL Password fields are disabled. The Windows username and password will be used instead. If you do not select this checkbox, then you must specify a database username and password to use. To use the Vantagepoint Transfer Settings utility, you must use Windows Authentication. Connections to the SQL Server using a SQL user account are not supported for this utility. |
| SQL Username | Enter the username of the Microsoft SQL Server administrative account that will manage this database. Deltek does not recommend using the "sa" SQL Server user account. The account that you specify should be configured in its SQL Server Login Properties to use English as the default language. |
| SQL Password | Enter the corresponding password for this user account. |
| SQL Timeout (ms) | Enter the number of minutes Vantagepoint will try to connect to the SQL Server before the connection times out. |
| Enable FILESTREAM | Select this option to enable the Transactional Document Management (TDM) feature in
Vantagepoint. TDM provides support for uploading and attaching documents and files to various types of transactions, proposals, expense reports, and more.

| FILESTREAM SQL Server | This field is enabled when the
Enable Transactional Document Management option is selected.

| FILESTREAM Database Name | This field is enabled when the
Enable FILESTREAM option is selected. This field displays the name of the FILESTREAM database, which defaults to match the
Vantagepoint database name with the word
Files appended at the end.
You can modify the FILESTREAM database name. |
Miscellaneous
| Field | Description |
|---|---|
| Disable Process Server | Select this option if you do not want to use this database for scheduled jobs. If selected, this database is not polled for jobs.
If you change this option (select or clear it), you must restart your process servers for the change to take effect. |
| Virtual Dir (optional) | Enter a specific virtual directory for this database to appear as an available database only for the specified virtual directory. If you leave this field blank, the database will be accessible by all virtual directories on a given web server. |
| SaaS / Hosted Instance | Select this checkbox to allow Deltek or other vendors who offer hosted instances of
Vantagepoint to hide or disable system-level functionality that is not appropriate in a "software as a service" environment.
When you select this checkbox, the following are no longer available:
When you select this checkbox, the Number of Days to Retain Audit History field allows a value of only 30 or less on the Audit Trail form in . If you need to restore this functionality, clear the checkbox. |
| Allow User Account Passwords to be Blank | Select this checkbox to allow users to log on to Vantagepoint without entering a password on the log on screen. |
| Automatically check Windows Authentication checkbox in Vantagepoint login screen | Select this checkbox to make the Windows Authentication checkbox selected by default. |
| Allow RDL files to be uploaded in Report Administration | Select this option to enable the Custom Reports tab in in the desktop application. The Custom Reports tab is the Vantagepoint interface that facilitates the upload of custom RDL files. The Report Administration utility will also be hidden if this checkbox is not selected. |
| Use Availability Groups | Select this option if you are using availability groups. |
| Disable SIEM Logger | Select this option to allow Vantagepoint to log authentication attempts. |
Allow Private IP Addresses
Use this grid to save a set of private IP addresses for use with the Weblink utility. Normally, any calls to outside webservices are blocked if their URL is in private address space. Any IP address in this grid will be allowed for calling webservices in PIM or Workflow.

| Apply Private Addresses Globally | When you select this option, calls from the private IP addresses specified in the grid are allowed for all the databases added in the Weblink form.
If you want to specify a private IP address or a set of private IP addresses for each database, clear this option, select a database, and then enter the IP addresses for each database. |
| Description | Enter a description for the private IP address. |
| Address | Enter the IP address. If you selected the Apply Private Addresses Globally option, the allowed private IP address functionality will be associated with the all the databases entered in the Weblink form. If you did not select the Apply Private Addresses Globally option, the allowed private IP address functionality will be associated with the selected database (current database) at the top of the General tab. |
| Insert | To insert a row, click this option. |
| Copy | To copy a row, select the row that contains the entry that you want to copy and click this option. Modify the entry as necessary and save the new entry. |
| Delete | To delete the entry from the grid, select the row containing the entry you want to delete and click this option. |
